You know, California is a beautiful part of the country and it would be even more beautiful if gun grabbing Communists were not in charge of the state.  Piled on top of all the anti-Constitution, anti-Second Amendment pretended legislation that the Golden State has been churning out over the past couple of years, the old adage of “No one wants to take your guns” becomes even more unbelievable.

And the proof is a new breed of police whose sole purpose is to confiscate your firearms.

The CIA-tied Washington Post is reporting on these cops.

A broad, bald Tennessean, Richardson runs a six-person team of California Justice Department agents who are coming for your guns, but only if you no longer have the legal authority to own one in this state that has tightened firearm laws in increments over the years.

His division is the only law enforcement agency in the country assigned specifically to track down and take guns from felons, the mentally ill and others whose Second Amendment rights have been curtailed in court because of public safety concerns. That is, the people who even the National Rifle Association says should not have guns, a statement echoing in the aftermath of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. The program makes California’s gun-control policy perhaps the most aggressive in the nation.

A dozen years ago, the state set up a database that flags law enforcement officials when a registered gun owner is convicted of a felony, deemed mentally ill, has received a restraining order or committed one of about 37 qualifying misdemeanors.

As I’ve said before, the NRA is not the standard here.  The Constitution is.

None of the measures above have stopped one crime, not one, including the San Bernardino attack, but it makes politicians stick their chests out like they did something (they did, they violated the Constitution) and it gives cops a job, albeit mostly an illegal job.  It also results in the theft of millions of guns from citizens from whom they should not be taken.

In one of WaPo’s examples of what these policemen are doing, they target a 56-year-old grandmother, who owned several handguns, but currently only had one.  She was convicted of felony theft, but they want to take her firearm, and they did.

Just let me say, in a biblical model of society and law, which is what we are supposed to be based upon, this grandmother would have simply made restitution to the person she stole from plus interest and that would be the end of it.

Losing your right to defend yourself for simply stealing, not armed robbery, is a cruel injustice.

Additionally, the previous week, the teams encountered Steven Ponder, a 57-year-old convicted more than a decade ago of counterfeiting and owning a machine gun. He had four guns registered in his name.

The team found and seized 28 firearms, including 11 homemade “ghost guns” that carry no serial number, and 65,000 rounds of ammunition. One of the “ghost guns” was fully automatic.

So?  The guy was engaged in counterfeiting.  It was not a violent crime in the least and owning guns is a protected right, including fully automatic ones, no matter what the NRA or anyone else says.  The Second Amendment does not restrict or regulate particular arms of any kind and does not give authority to government to do so either.

But that’s not all.  Just let the government deem you mentally ill, though you have committed no crime, and they believe they have the right to relieve you of your property and rights, which is a clear violation of the Fifth Amendment, which states there must be due process of law before you lose your rights.  For that to happen, you must first commit a crime.

There are 10,226 people on the list statewide that Richardson and his team will be seeing.  Of those, roughly 2,000 are in Los Angeles county.

Here’s what is most telling.

“All of this takes time and real resources,” said Xavier Becerra (D), California’s attorney general, who said he is requesting more money for the program this year. “As quickly as we get these guns off the street, others are getting guns.”

So, you are really doing all of this not only in violation of the rights of the people, but then you’re going to milk them for more money to do it some more.  All the while, people continue to get guns.

Seriously, this is a really bad idea, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.  They are coming for your guns in California, and other states will not be far behind.
