Democrat: #ReleaseTheMemo A “Conspiracy Theory” – “It Is A Profoundly Misleading Document”

So, a top Democrat is now referring to the entire allegations regarding the classified 4-page FISA memo that Americans are demanding be released under the hashtag #releasethememo as a grand “conspiracy theory.”

A letter penned by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), ranking member on the House Committee on the Judiciary, to Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) on Tuesday calls the memo a “profoundly misleading document.”

“I have now reviewed the so-called ‘Nunes memo,’ a document written by intelligence committee majority staff,” Nadler wrote.  “It is a profoundly misleading document.”

Nadler then said that the Committee “must act without delay to correct the record and – in your words – to permit Special Counsel Mueller to complete his investigation ‘without interference.'”

Nadler claims that both he and Goodlatte have revied the documents that the memo is based on and wrote, “Those materials tell a very different story than the conspiracy theory concocted by Chairman Nunes and being repeated in the press.”

Can it be any more conspiratorial than the NSA’s acknowledged multiple violations of the law in an April 17, 2017 FISA report?

Just keep in mind that if two people are involved in the crimes alleged in the memo, then it is, by definition, a conspiracy.

Nadler wants two things from Goodlatte:

  1. Ask the Justice Department to make the source materials available to every member of our Committee.
  2. Ask Chairman Nunes to grant the Justice Department and the FBI access to his memo.

Nadler is getting backing by his fellow Democrats, including ranking House Intelligence Committee member Adam Schiff, who claims the memo is “rife with factual inaccuracies,” and “is meant only to give Republican House members a distorted view of the FBI.”

Perhaps, the distortion is coming from the Democrats.

Last Thursday, Representatives Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) appeared on Hannity to talk about the memo.

During that interview, Rep. Gaetz said that the entire investigation by Robert Mueller was “a lie built on corruption,” but went further.

“I think that this will not end just with firings,” Gaetz said. “I believe there are people who will go to jail. I was very persuaded by the evidence. And it also became clear to me why Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham felt it so important to refer this matter for criminal prosecution. You don’t get to try to undermine our country, undermine our elections and then simply get fired. So, I think there will be criminal implications here. And we have to underscore the point that you and Jim Jordan just made.”

“Every single Democrat on the Intelligence Committee voted against even allowing other members of Congress to see this information, so you know they’re going to fight against release to the American people,” he added. “What are the Democrats so afraid of? Why don’t they want the American people to know the truth about what was going on with the government, how that impacted the president, his transition, his campaign and it just seems interesting to me that Democrats don’t want us to know what the entire basis was in the first place for the Mueller probe they want to drag this out through the midterm elections to try to embarrass this president and distract this Congress from the critical work we have to do to save this great country. Let’s release the documents.”

Judge Andrew Napolitano has said the memo could simply be read on the floor of the House and be protected under the First Amendment.

Let’s just do both.  Let’s get a Rep. Nunes to read the memo on the floor and then release it to the public.
