GOP Pushes to Defund United Nations – But Is It For The Right Reasons?

The United Nations is a global cabal that is anti-Christian and anti-American. So, the question has always been, why would the united States support such an organization and allow them to establish themselves on our shores? Stupidity, I suppose, or more likely a sinister plot by those within our own government to quietly strip us of our national sovereignty and bring us into a one world government. Finally, some members of the GOP are calling for defunding the UN, but I question if it is for the right reasons.

The main issue is the new UN resolution, which was supported by the Obama administration, against the nation of Israel. Even liberal attorney Alan Dershowitz is for defunding the UN over this.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted:

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) agreed with Cruz and said, “It’s that important to me. This is a road we haven’t gone down before. If you can’t show the American people that international organizations can be more responsible, there is going to be a break. And I am going to lead that break…”

“I will do everything in my power, working with the new administration and Congress, to leave no doubt about where America stands when it comes to the peace process and where we stand with the only true democracy in the Middle East, Israel…” added Graham.

The US pays more than 185 countries in the UN combined, a total of over $3 billion!

Last year, CNS reported that American taxpayers funded the globalist organization to the tune of $3.024 billion. According to the report:

While the U.S. contribution in 2015 to the U.N. regular budget is $621.9 million, the 35 countries

contributing the least will pay just $28,269 each, Heritage Foundation scholar Brett Schaefer told the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee responsible for multilateral institutions.

And where the U.S. will pay $2.402 billion towards the separate peacekeeping budget, the 20 countries contributing the least will pay just $8,470 each.

Putting those together, “the United States will be assessed approximately $3 billion this year, based on the projected budgets for the regular and peacekeeping budgets, while the 20 least-assessed countries will be assessed less than $37,000 [each] this year for both of those budgets,” he said.

“For the regular budget, the U.S. is assessed more than 176 other U.N. member-states combined,” Schaefer said. “For the peacekeeping budget, the U.S. is assessed more than 185 other U.N. member-states, combined.”

Now, here is the question that must be asked, and before anyone shouts me down, I’m not “anti-Israel” nor am I anti-Semitic, why are the senators and others just now shouting about defunding an organization that wants to remove our sovereignty over a resolution against Israel? Why not defund it simply because the organization is not in the best interest of the united States?

Over and over again bills have been presented to eliminate funding for the UN. Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul put forth one every year he was in Congress. His son Rand (R-KY) has done the same. Yet, they get no traction. Now, all of a sudden because of another country that is an ally, we are hearing these calls? I don’t get it.

Look, I think the UN resolutions against Israel are ridiculous. Israel was attacked time and again throughout her history since 1948, including the very day she was established by this same organization. She gained land as a result of defeating her attackers, who cried like a bunch of spoiled children, calling for cease fires.

Sadly, many have this strange support of Israel as though they can do no wrong and they are allegedly “God’s chosen people.” However, as I’ve referenced on several occasions, the reference to blessing and cursing Israel is actually to Abraham. I’ve prefaced a few articles that distorts who Israel actually is.

The specific reference to that is to Abraham himself (Genesis 12:3). However, we are told in the New Testament that Israel is not a mass of land, but rather a people, most specifically they are those who have the faith of Abraham (Galatians 3:7) and those who are in Christ are the seed of Abraham (Galatians 3:29). All attempts to say that those who openly reject the Messiah, the Lord Jesus as having come in the flesh are anti-christs (1 John 2:22; 4:3), not true Israel.

The Lord Jesus even referenced those who claimed to be children of Abraham and God as their father as being children of the devil. Listen to what He said in John 8:37-47:

I know you are Abraham’s descendants, but you are trying to kill Me because My word has no place within you. I speak of what I have seen in the presence of the Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

“Abraham is our father,” they replied.

“If you were children of Abraham,” said Jesus, “you would do the works of Abraham. But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing. You are doing the works of your father.”

“We are not illegitimate children,” they answered. “Our only Father is God Himself.”

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on My own, but He sent Me.

Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!

Which of you can prove Me guilty of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me? Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.

I then offered this piece of advice for those who want to talk about blessing and cursing Israel and bringing judgment upon the united States. Consider that America has turned its back on God and gone after those who have the faith of Abraham and are the seed of Abraham (All believers no matter their lineage). Could it be that we are facing such disasters not due to something going on to a postage stamp piece of land, but because our country is cursing the true seed of Abraham, namely believers in the Lord Jesus?

While I’m happy about the cries to defund the UN, I wish it were on the basis that it is simply an evil organization. I’ll support the measure either way.
