Hey You Self-Righteous Democrats & Republicans, Why Aren’t You Demanding Senator Bob Menendez Step Aside?

The ongoing saga surrounding Judge Roy Moore’s candidacy as Senator from Alabama continues to cause pain and strife in the GOP.

Tensions are high because the establishment GOP (who were already against Moore’s candidacy) have been the loudest calling for him to resign.

Meanwhile, the average voter in Alabama is stuck with continuing to support a man who may be a sexual predator or voting for a radical pro-abortion leftist.

I’m not going to rehash the debate over whether or not Moore is innocent  – only to say that there has been no proof presented and Moore vehemently denies the charges.

My point of discussing this story isn’t to defend the man, he can do that himself.

My goal is to point out the unyielding hypocrisy of the Democrats who continue to rail against Moore’s supposed “crimes” while ignoring far worse crimes in their own camp.

For example, here’s lefty Matthew Dowd agreeing with Democrat leaders that Republicans should support the Democrat in Alabama against Moore.

“They could back the Democratic candidate, who, from everybody’s reporting is a guy of integrity,” Dowd said. “They could put party aside and back the Democrat against the pedophile.”

Meanwhile, there is an actual Democrat Senator who is about to be convicted (hopefully) of corruption. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) has long been suspected of a host of crimes, one of which is that he repeatedly enjoyed the services of underage prostitutes while vacationing in the Caribbean with his friend Salomon Melgen.

“Presented with specific, corroborated allegations that defendants Menendez and Melgen had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic, the Government responsibly and dutifully investigated those serious allegations,” the filing says. “The indictment here, of course, charges only corruption and does not include any allegations of soliciting underage prostitution.”

Prosecutors twice say there was “corroborating evidence” to support the initial sex crime allegations, for which Menendez and Melgen face no charges. In the first instance, they write:
“The defendants present their case as exceptional because the allegations of underage prostitution are ‘such easily disprovable allegations about something that would hardly be a federal crime even had it been true.’ Id. As an initial matter, it is most certainly a federal crime to leave the country for the purpose of engaging in a commercial sex act with a minor, and the defendants’ suggestion to the contrary is unsettling. See 18 U.S.C. §§ 1952, 1591(a)(1), & 2421. Furthermore, the defendants’ dismissive treatment of these allegations is troubling. Allegations of human trafficking and underage prostitution must be taken seriously and cannot be dismissed merely because the alleged perpetrator is a United States Senator. Given the nature and seriousness of the allegations, in addition to the corroborating evidence, it would have been irresponsible not to investigate.”

The prostitutes that they frequented have even come forward and detailed some of their sessions.

In a little-noticed email published online Wednesday by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a young Dominican woman wrote nine months ago that she slept with 59-year-old New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez at a series of sex parties organized by Dr. Salomon Melgen, a longtime Menendez campaign donor.

“That senator also likes the youngest and newest girls,” the woman wrote on April 21, 2012, according to an English translation provided to The Daily Caller by a native Spanish speaker.

“In the beginning he seemed so serious, because he never spoke to anyone, but he is just like the others and has just about the same tastes as the doctor, very refined. I think they were taking us more often to get us checked [medically] because of him.”

Sadly, soon after the prostitutes revealed Menendez and Melgen’s many crimes, they recanted. The prostitutes further said that they’d been paid to level the charges against the men, but prosecutors argue that the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming and the details provided by the prostitutes are far too detailed and accurate for them to be easily dismissed.

Federal prosecutors said Monday that they aren’t convinced claims U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez cavorted with underage hookers – widely seen as discredited – are false…

The lawyers say their investigation resulted from “specific, corroborated allegations that defendants Menendez and Melgen had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic”…

The filing discloses circumstantial information indirectly linking Menendez to prostitutes.

The prosecutors noted eyewitness testimony that Melgen, 61, attended a party that included prostitutes, and that he flew “numerous young women” to the Dominican Republic on his private jet.

“Many of these young women receive substantial financial support from defendant Melgen,” prosecutors say.

So have these same liberals come out in condemnation of Senator Menendez? Does Matthew Dowd believe that the Democrats in the Senate should expel Menendez if he’s found guilty? Have any of them gone on record to condemn Menendez or call for him to step down?

NOPE.

Listen as the 2nd most powerful Democrat in the Senate, Dick Durbin (D-IL) refused to say that if Menendez was found guilty he’d support a call to have him expelled.

When Tapper asks him, “hypothetically,” if Menendez is found guilty will you call for him to be expelled? This is how Durbin responded…

I’m not going to get into the hypotheticals on either of these situations. As I said, several steps removed. I’m hopeful that when all is said and done that Bob Menendez will be returning to the Senate representing the state of New Jersey.

Meanwhile, these same Democrats argue that a man who is not under investigation and who has had no proof of his guilt offered… should be run out of the Senate as a pedophile?

That is Democrat hypocrisy in 2017 for you.

Robert Menendez = corrupt pedophile, but he should keep his job.

Roy Moore = accused dater of teenage girls, he’s not fit to serve.

Does it make any sense? No. But then again, Democrats rarely make sense.
