If FBI Officials Were Truly Concerned About Russians, Why Didn’t They Alert The Trump Campaign And Wire Them Up?

The FBI’s narrative is falling apart. Their reasons for spying on the Trump campaign are indefensible. Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani says that if their spying was ‘inappropriate, we may have an entirely illegitimate investigation.’

Ever since the revelation that the Obama FBI spied on the Trump campaign, former intelligence officials have been tying themselves into knots with their denials of wrongdoing. Perhaps the most audacious remark so far was uttered by former FBI Director James Comey, who wonders “what will Republicans tell their grandchildren about this?”

Rudy Giuliani, along with most of us, is questioning the reasons behind the FBI’s employment of Cambridge professor Stefan Halper to spy on the Trump campaign. Giuliani, on behalf of the White House, is requesting a briefing on the materials disclosed to House Committee Chairmen Devin Nunes and Trey Gowdy about the matter in Thursday’s meeting with DOJ officials.

Unbelievably, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and White House attorney Emmett Flood both went to the meeting to convey Trump’s request for transparency, but left before the “substantive portion” of the meeting as previously agreed upon. The presence of Kelly and Flood at the start of the meeting apparently “alarmed Democrats who were concerned that the officials would share information from the meetings for Trump’s legal advantage.”

Why is this information being withheld from President Trump? He is the President of the United States. He has a right to this information. Why is he not ordering this information? Giuliani said, “I assume President Obama knew about it. And if Obama knew about it, why can’t Trump?” Giuliani has many questions about the FBI’s use of a spy.

What motivated putting him in? What sort of information were they seeking from him? What did they get? They clearly did not get incriminating information or we’d have found out about it by now. And why did they hide it for so long? There’s a big concealment that went on here for over a year since the president said he had been surveilled…it would be appropriate for Trump to be briefed on the findings. He’s not the subject or target of that investigation. He should know what is discussed. Moreover, I assume President Obama knew about it. And if Obama knew about it, why can’t Trump?”

He then invoked the material compiled by former FBI Director James Comey before he was fired.

“Coupled with Comey’s illegally leaked memos, this means the whole thing was a mistake and should never have happened,” Giuliani said. “We’d urge the Justice Department to re-evaluate, to acknowledge they made a mistake. It’s a waste of $20 million of the taxpayers’ money. The whole thing is already a waste of money.”

Among the stated reasons for the spying is that the FBI acted for national security purposes. If this was truly the reason said former FBI Joint Terrorism task force member Steve Rodgers (who appeared on Friday night’s “Ingraham Angle” hosted by Jesse Waters), the FBI would have alerted the campaign.

“If they were going for the Russians, they would have gone to the Trump campaign…they would have wired those individuals up and said, look the Russians are coming after you, we need to wire you up, let’s trap the Russians…they were never going after the Russians, they were going after Donald Trump.”

James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence under Obama, appeared on “The View” and was asked directly by Joy Behar if the FBI was spying on Trump. (Please go to 8:20 in the video)

Clapper: “No, they were not, they were spying on – a term I don’t particularly like but – on what the Russians were doing.”

Behar: “Why doesn’t he like that, he should be happy.”

Clapper: “He should be.”

Come on, man!

Rodgers is convinced that Obama was well aware of what was going on to which everyone on the panel agreed. Waters offered as evidence one of the Strzok/Page texts, which says, “The White House is running this.”

The DOJ gave a second briefing on Thursday afternoon to a group of bipartisan Congressional leaders. Predictably, following the meeting, Democrats told the press that no evidence was offered to prove that the FBI had spied on the Trump campaign.

Too bad for the Dems that the evidence against them has become too big for them to hide. In addition, in the last several weeks, there has been a noticeable “shift” in the public’s perception of the Mueller investigation. It began with the raid on Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s home, office and hotel room, followed by the sharp rebuke to Mueller’s investigators by the presiding judge in the Paul Manafort case and was sealed by revelations that the FBI planted a spy in the Trump campaign. More and more, Americans are seeing this for the fraud that it is.

Robert Mueller has found no evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians. If he had, it would have been leaked in the same way that everything, proven or unproven, about President Trump gets leaked.

As the reason for opening this investigation gets turned on its head in the light of recently uncovered and reluctantly conceded information, Democrats and their cheerleaders, the mainstream media, are unwilling or perhaps unable, to let it go. Based on recent remarks, they seem to have lost touch with reality.

A spy is not a spy, but a “human intelligence informant.” And he was planted in the Trump campaign for the “good of the nation.” They can’t divulge the identity of this “asset” because it would put his life in danger. Well, Dems, his name is out there now and he is still alive. Should we be insulted that they truly believe Americans will buy this nonsense or is this merely their last, desperate attempt to evade responsibility for their actions?

The Los Angeles Times pens an editorial explaining to us how Trump Has Sought to Undermine Russia Probe From Start. TNR’s Elizabeth Drew informs us that The Number of Trump’s Impeachable Offenses Keeps Growing. And Brian Beutler of Crooked Media reminds us that Mueller Is Investigating Trump’s Corruption of America.

Democrats have even chosen “the fight against corruption” as their midterm campaign message. So ridiculous are these statements, but we must try to understand that they are grieving.

They are trying hard to peddle their false narrative. This sometimes happens to people when they are faced with a truth that is completely contradictory to their beliefs. The left has become so convinced of their own lies that they now view them as the truth.

The idea that they might actually be held to account for their actions has put many on the left into a state of denial. This was not part of their plan. If only Hillary had been elected, none of this would matter. We hope that they come around to acceptance before too long.

Although Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross identified the five stages of loss with terminally ill patients in mind, the model can apply just as effectively to the acceptance of any adversity. Obama administration officials and members of the mainstream media have recently realized that the full extent of their wrongdoing, including criminal wrongdoing, is about to be exposed. This comes as such a blow to them that they will need some time to recover. They must move through the five stages of grief, which are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally, acceptance. Currently, they are straddling the denial and anger stages.

The DOJ has gone overboard in their efforts to redact large portions of documents and in some cases, entire documents before allowing members of Congress to view them. What is it that they are hiding?

It’s time for President Trump to order the DOJ to comply with the document requests. He is the leader. He needs to lead. The sooner the documents are revealed, the sooner this crisis – and yes it is a crisis – can be resolved.

Although the likelihood of a Democratic takeover of the House dwindles every day, President Trump can’t afford to take that chance. If allowed, Rod Rosenstein and his colleagues will continue to stonewall until November 6th. The truth of this massive conspiracy to destroy him must be exposed. With only five months left until the midterm elections, he needs to force the DOJ to provide the requested documents. Time is of the essence.
