Putin to Trump Accusers: “They Don’t Understand the Damage They’re Doing to Their Own Country”

From day one, President Trump’s administration has been dogged by accusations that he is somehow in league with the Russians. To be fair, Trump has a lot of flaws that are worth criticizing, but the mainstream media has refused to relent on this particular issue, even though there isn’t any real proof. They won’t back down from the Russia allegations because they know that if they can get them to stick, it could end Trump’s presidency.

The latest accusation has resulted in just about everyone in the mainstream media and the Democratic party, calling for Trump’s impeachment. Again, there’s no proof that Trump leaked classified material to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov last week. There’s only the word of one anonymous source who offered this revelation to the Washington Post. Members of Trump’s administration have provided a very different take on what happened.

National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster told the press that “The story that came out tonight as reported is false…I was in the room.  It didn’t happen.” Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell claimed “The story is false. The president only discussed the common threats that both countries faced.” And Rex Tillerson has since added that “the nature of specific threats were discussed, but they did not discuss sources, methods or military operations.”

Of course, the media will be quick to claim that these sources can’t be trusted since they are so close to Trump and his alleged Russian connections. But are we to believe that all of these people are involved in some kind of pro-Russian conspiracy? McMaster, for instance, has been consistently tough of the Russians and is clearly a war hawk. It would have served his interests to throw Trump under the bus, but he didn’t do that.

However, no amount of evidence will be good enough for the media and the political establishment. For instance, Putin recently offered to provide a transcript of the conversation between Trump and Lavrov, to prove that no classified material was leaked. Here’s how the political hacks in Washington responded to that offer.

U.S. Republican Senator Marco Rubio was unimpressed with Putin’s offer and alluded to alleged Russian hacking of Democratic groups during the U.S. presidential election.

“I wouldn’t put much credibility into whatever Putin’s notes are,” Rubio said on Fox News. “And if it comes in an email, I wouldn’t click on the attachment.”

Representative Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, which is among those probing alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, called Putin’s offer “quite amusing.”

“The last person Trump needs to vouch for him right now is Vladimir Putin,” Schiff said in an interview with CBS News. “If they want to send something, you know, hats off. Send it our way… It’s credibility would be less than zero.”

What’s really sad about all of this, is that these accusations are killing any chance of repairing relations with Russia, which the Trump administration is desperately trying to accomplish. If Trump can’t meet with Lavrov without being hammered, then how could he talk to the Russians at all? Could you imagine what kind of accusations would surface if he dared to meet with Putin?

On that note, Putin recently called out the people who are perpetuating these Russia allegations and lamented the damaging effect these accusations have had on Trump’s administration.

Complaining about what he said was “political schizophrenia” in the United States, Putin said Trump was not being allowed to do his job properly.

“It’s hard to imagine what else these people who generate such nonsense and rubbish can dream up next,” said Putin, referring to unnamed U.S. politicians.

“What surprises me is that they are shaking up the domestic political situation using anti-Russian slogans. Either they don’t understand the damage they’re doing to their own country, in which case they are simply stupid, or they understand everything, in which case they are dangerous and corrupt.”

The media, the political establishment, and the deep state, all want the same thing. They want to get rid of Trump, and they want to keep our nation in an antagonistic position with Russia. And this Russian witch-hunt that has been going on since the election, could accomplish those goals. So if we ever go to war with Russia, you know exactly who to blame.
