Trump’s EPA Administer Scott Pruitt Harassed by Leftwing Public

It’s happened yet again.

Two weeks ago a handful of Trump associates, along with the Attorney General of Florida, were all accosted on separate occasions while simply trying to live normal lives.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a D.C. area restaurant, and less than a week after White House advisor Stephen Miller was harassed while trying to enjoy dinner out. Around the same town that Miller was being accosted Secretary of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen was also being mistreated at yet another D.C. area restaurant, and most recently on Saturday night, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi was accosted while trying to watch a movie at a local theater!

In the wake of these ugly incidents, many leftwingers have been calling for more such attacks on Americans they don’t like.

Maxine Waters (D-CA):

Jennifer Rubin:

I do think there’s one point that they miss, however. And that is you have to do what is most effective. I don’t think what’s most effective is throwing Sarah Sanders out of a restaurant; I wouldn’t serve her either, frankly. But what’s most successful is getting a million people on the street to protest. So let’s redirect all of that good, pent-up energy to something that makes a difference. Let’s get a million people to go to Maine or a million people to go to Alaska and start putting pressure on those Senators. So it’s perfectly civil to do that–no one is telling them to be violent protesters, but we’re not going to let these people go through life unscathed. Sarah Huckabee has no right to live a life of no fuss, no muss, after lying to the press—after lying to the press, after inciting against the press. These people should be made uncomfortable, and I think that’s a life sentence, frankly.

Hillary Clinton:

When Clinton was asked her thoughts on the party’s lurch toward becoming “uncivil.”She didn’t hold back. Defending it, endorsing it, and upping the stakes by demanding more “resolve and strength.”

“Oh, give me a break,” she railed. “Give me a break! What is more uncivil and cruel than taking children away? It should be met with resolve and strength. And if some of that comes across as a little uncivil, well, children’s lives are at stake; their futures are at stake.”

Kamala Harris (D-CA):

Others like Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), a likely presidential candidate in 2020, called Sunday for more street protests, along the lines of the 750 rallies that were held Saturday to protest the continued separation of immigrant children from their parents.

“It is up to each of us to use our voices and take to the streets to fight for who we are,” she tweeted Sunday.

Michael Moore:

“What would you give your life for?” Moore asked in a call to action Friday on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” “That moment is now. We are going to lose our democracy, if we haven’t already.”

Now the worst part… HALF of Democrats are fine with this kind of behavior.

Read that again.

Half of Democrats think its perfectly acceptable to treat Republicans and folks in the Trump administration like second-class citizens, simply because they don’t like the administration’s policies. (Which everyone should be reminded, on illegal immigration, aren’t that much different from Obama’s.)

From a recent YouGov poll:

Is this the “new normal” for Democrats?

It sure does seem so.

Yesterday, there was yet another of these confrontations between a member of the leftwing public and a member of the Trump administration.

From the Hill:

A woman publicly confronted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt while he was eating lunch on Monday and urged him to resign, according to video posted on Facebook.

“EPA head Scott Pruitt was 3 tables away as I ate lunch with my child. I had to say something,” Kristin Mink posted on Facebook with an accompanying video of her encounter with Pruitt.

Minka, who is a schoolteacher according to her Facebook profile, lists off multiple scandals Pruitt has been ensnared in since becoming EPA chief, including the rental of a Capitol Hill condo owned by the wife of an influential lobbyist.

“We deserve to have somebody at the EPA who actually does protect our environment, someone who believes in climate change and takes it seriously for the benefit of all us, including our children,” Minka said.

“I would urge you to resign before your scandals push you out.”

Minka’s encounter with Pruitt, which had about 2,500 views just more than hour after being posted, is the latest public confrontation a Trump Cabinet official has faced in recent weeks.

EPA head Scott Pruitt was 3 tables away as I ate lunch with my child. I had to say something. This man is directly and significantly harming my child’s — and every child’s — health and future with decisions to roll back environmental regulations for the benefit of big corporations, while he uses taxpayer money to fund a lavish lifestyle. He’s corrupt, he’s a liar, he’s a climate change denier, and as a public servant, he should not be able to go out in public without hearing from the citizens he’s hurting. Can I be so bold as to suggest that such displays as this are counter productive, unwise, mean-spirited, and stupid.

Can I also suggest that we stop treating every political difference as if it is the difference between saving our Republic or sliding into fascism.

Most of our political disagreements are small, over degrees of separation on any given issue. Most Democrats don’t want completely open and insecure borders. Most Republicans don’t want to stop valuable migration into our nation. In fact, few of our political disagreements are TRULY life and death.

In other words, we can treat each other respectfully. We can give each other the benefit of the doubt. We can remember that most of us, right or left, love our country and want the best for future generations. We simply have different opinions on how to get there.

Let’s stop driving each other further into our ideological corners and let’s start treating each other like the valuable human beings we all are.

Please.
