It looks like at least two of Facebook’s four self-proclaimed pontificators of what is fact and what is not, Snopes and the Associated Press, have abruptly ended their “fact checking” relationship with the social media giant.
The people who have been assigned by the media and social media outlets, as well as search engines like Google (just type something in and pretty much, Snopes is at the top of the list), as being “fact checkers” and champions of the truth will regret the day they put them on such a pedestal.
Snopes and the Associated Press have been given power over social media to define truth but they are often wrong and the consequences are grave.

Less discerning readers are spoonfed an opinion which is flavored as fact, but most of us know that the truth is never quite that simple.
