Businesses Cancel Relationships with NRA after Backlash from Gun Grabbers

Pinterest WhatsApp

In typical anti-constitutionalist fashion, any and everything but a disturbed individual and gun free zones were responsible for the mass shooting at a Parkland, Florida high school on Valentine’s Day.  Law-abiding citizens who support the Second Amendment and own guns “have blood on our hands,” per these haters of the constitution, because we refuse to roll over and relinquish our rights.  As usual, anti-constitutionalists blame gun organizations, such as the National Rifle Association (NRA), for the tragedy since these noncritical thinkers have adopted a false narrative concerning this organization.

This false narrative and the school shooting in Parkland, Florida has prompted companies to distance themselves from the NRA.  First National Bank of Omaha announced it would be cancelling NRA Visa cards, which contained the organizations’ logo and offered a $40 dollar sign up bonus.  Why did the largest bank in the united States cancel the NRA’s credit line?  Simple;  customer feedback caused the bank to rethink its association with the NRA.

Several companies are distancing themselves from the National Rifle Association in the wake of the Parkland shooting.

First National Bank of Omaha, the largest privately-owned bank in the US, announced Thursday it would be terminating NRA Visa credit cards, which featured the organization’s logo and gave users a $40 bonus for signing up.

Customer feedback has caused us to review our relationship with the NRA. As a result, First National Bank of Omaha will not renew its contract with the National Rifle Association to issue the NRA Visa Card.

“Customer feedback has caused us to review our relationship with the NRA,” the bank tweeted. “As a result, First National Bank of Omaha will not renew its contract with the National Rifle Association to issue the NRA Visa Card.”

So, any consumer can call the bank, demand the bank terminate a relationship with an organization or business and it will comply.  This is a perfect example of tyranny – where a group of people decide, without reason or cause, that others do not merit standing in the community because of holding a different opinion;  and therefore, should have sanctions against them.  While one can agree that a business has the sole right to determine with whom it serves, this bank would not have taken this action had “consumers” not provided the pressure to the bank officials, who evidently were tired of getting phone calls.

However, the First National Bank of Omaha was not the only business to cease transactions with the NRA.

Infowars.com reported:

Likewise, car rental giant Enterprise Holdings, which operates Enterprise Rent-a-car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent a Car, declared Thursday that all three of their brands would be terminating discounts for NRA members.

The Hertz car rental company also announced Friday NRA members would no longer be eligible for their car discount program.

We have notified the NRA that we are ending the NRA’s rental car discount program with Hertz.

Thank you for contacting us, Ciara! We have ended the discount for NRA members. This change will be effective March 26. Thank you again for reaching out. Kind regards, Michael

Bet these same car rental giants didn’t offer to cease using certain make and model cars involved in drunk driving incidences where an innocent individual was killed.  Yes, it is only a discount program that the NRA will no longer receive.  However, it is, in essence, punishing an organization and the individuals in it for holding to a different opinion than those in the company.  According to the LGBTQRSUVXYZ groups, who have had government force the closing of a Christian bakery for holding a differing opinion, this would be discrimination deserving of use of full force of the government to ensure these businesses offer the same services to those with whom they disagree.  Of course, government should not be involved in any transactions conducted by any business since the free market system allows for businesses to conduct transactions with those whom it wants as customers.  It’s called “freedom of association.”  And, the consumer can choose not to conduct transactions with businesses he/she discovers does not hold to their values and principles.

Moreover, the list goes on to include Symantec, MetLife, and BlackRock.

Investment firm BlackRock, the largest gunmaker shareholder, also indicated it would be working with firearms manufacturers “to understand their response” to the shooting, but did not say it would divest from gun companies which make up $6 trillion in assets.

Anti-malware software company Symantec and insurance company MetLife also both issued statements Friday announcing they were also discontinuing discounts on products for NRA members, in addition to

Symantec has stopped its discount program with the National Rifle Association.

We value all our customers but have decided to end our discount program with the NRA.

The business decisions followed the publication of an article by ThinkProgress shaming companies over their ties to the NRA, which has been blamed by leftists for last week’s mass school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

ThinkProgress shamed these companies and called them to ask if they were going to continue having a relationship with the NRA, where members can receive discounts on certain services. In the State of Texas, where most individuals associate a strong support for the Second Amendment by government, Dallas mayor pro tem Dwaine Caraway indicated the NRA would be met with opposition should it hold to its plans to hold its annual convention in Dallas.  Caraway called for the organization to move its convention out of Dallas claiming, “There will be marches and demonstrations should they come to Dallas.”  Not all Dallas city council members agree with Caraway, claiming the organization has every right to hold their convention in Dallas.

This shows the mindset of the anti-constitutionalist individual.  The individual blames the NRA for a mass shooting incident where children were murdered and support of the Second Amendment, urges businesses to cease offering some transactions to the organization, while he or she cheers when government subsidizes Planned Parenthood hence using taxpayer money of pro-life citizens to murder babies in the womb.  These same individuals always yell, “we need to stop the murder of children in the schools,” as they champion mothers murdering their unborn.  If children held any value to anti-constitutionalists, the murder of just one, by any means to include murder in the womb, would be abhorrent to these people.  But, children mean very little or these individuals would choose to preserve an unborn child’s life.

This hypocritical, impassioned, unreasonable, sensationalist faction intent on forcing their ideology on everyone else, expressing adversity to the rights of other citizens, whether it is liked or not, is what the Founding Father’s envisioned the Constitution controlling its “effects” since it is unfeasible to control the cause.  Yet, the federal government has jumped in with both feet to support, promote, and revere this “faction” instead of controlling the effects it has while attempting to silence the opposing constitutionalist faction through shaming, ridicule, and oppression.  James Madison warned that a weak government, as was under the Articles of Confederation, was as much a danger to liberty as a strong one.  Weak government allowed a “Democratic tyranny” or majority/minority faction rule that limited the rights of other citizens instead of controlling the effects of faction to ensure liberty and the rights of all citizens.

Are we not seeing a faction that does not hold the majority, but the minority, exerting “Democratic tyranny” in calling for the removal of the citizens’ right to keep and bear arms producing a threat to liberty?  And, what is government doing to control the effects of this faction?  In some cases, the government works alongside this faction to engage in tyranny when it basically denies Christian businesses the right to hold to their religious beliefs by forcing, through coercion, these entities to participate in sinful acts, according to their religion.  Yet, government does not apply the same standard when it involves non-Christian businesses, allowing business owners with other religious beliefs to discriminate against some consumers.  This “faction” serves the corrupt government agenda;  therefore, it will receive government protection while the other hand of government works to remove God-given unalienable rights from the rest of the people.

It is time constitutionalists stood up to be heard by contacting these companies to voice an opposing viewpoint to the anti-constitutionalists gun grabbers.  Most hold business hours from 8 am to 5 pm ET.
