Florida Senator Pushes Propaganda Of “Assault Weapons” Used In Liberty City Shooting – Maybe We Should Hold Him To That Propaganda

Following a shooting that took the lives of two teens on Sunday in Liberty City, Florida, state Senator Bill Nelson and other Democrats tweeted out about the incident and couldn’t resist passing on propaganda about assault weapons being used.

Rickey Dixon, 18, and Kimson Green, 17 were killed in the shooting, and two others were sent to the hospital.

However, when Nelson got hold of the story, he failed to check his facts and tweeted out that assault weapons were used.

“Just got off the phone with State Rep. Kionne McGhee. Several people dead in Liberty City. Apparently assault weapons used,” he tweeted.

He wasn’t the only one to use the term and pass on propaganda in the news to try and advance a gun confiscation agenda.

Florida State Rep. Kionne McGhee also referred to the weapons used as “assault weapons.”

@SenBillNelson leadership on the topic of Assualt Weapons being used to kill our kids was evident last night as he called to support us from DC while we were in Liberty City at another homicide scene involving our young people,” he tweeted.

Now, both men were obviously referencing semi-automatic rifles, presumably AR-15s, by the term “assault weapons.”  We’ve covered that term so many times before that I don’t care to engage in that any further.

However, perhaps it’s time we turn this around on the propagandists.  Why?  Because the weapons used in the shooting were semi-automatic handguns, according to police.

Now, the truth of the matter is that the weapons in the shooting were used to assault four teenagers.  So, in using the definition of the terms, yes, they were assault weapons despite the fact that both of these irresponsible representatives meant to communicate to the public that semi-automatic rifles were used.

And what evidence did they have for such claims?

Well, when called out by one person on Twitter who asked if McGhee was sure it wasn’t semi-automatic handguns, he responded, “Based upon the conversation and statements from the community to those of us at the scene lastnight, witnesses stated that believed they heard an assault weapon.

I kid you negative.

Witnesses “heard an assault weapon”?  I wonder if the witnesses of the shooting would be able to identify the firing of an Ar-15 from that of a semi-automatic .45.  I wonder if they could identify a .22 rifle from a .22 pistol.

However, the point I’m making here is that both of these men are doing what Socialists and Communists do, they are manipulating the language to get one over on the American people.

These are the same kinds of people that won’t refer to sodomites as, well, sodomites.  They call them “gay.”  They won’t refer to adultery as adultery.  They call it an affair.  They won’t refer to the killing of the unborn as “murder.”  They call it a choice.  Now, they refer to semi-automatic rifles as “assault weapons.”

However, in this case, the semi-automatic handguns that were used were actually used to assault other person and by doing so, they could be labeled as such.  I point this out only because these gun grabbers want to ban semi-automatic handguns as well.  I’ve pointed this out when Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) put forward her completely unconstitutional assault weapons ban following Sandy Hook that she not only went after handguns and shotguns, but she also wanted gun owners’ fingerprints too.  Thankfully, that piece of unconstitutional garbage was defeated.

I also pointed it out in more recent legislation introduced in DC that wants to target these weapons as well.

I think it’s high time we turn things around here and start presenting the “assault weapon” language in parallel with when guns are actually used to assault, no matter if it’s a semi-automatic rifle, handgun, revolver or musket.  Then be sure to define what we mean by it.  I mean, take and explain that the weapon was not an assault weapon until it was used to actually commit a crime and assault another person.  it could have just as easily been a hammer, a rock or a pencil that the criminal used to assault another person, but it just so happened to be a gun.

No matter what these people argue or how they argue, they are going against the Constitution and the rights of the people.  We might as well expose their language propaganda for what it is along the way, and it seems to me that this angle could be honed and used very well against them and their position.

I don’t claim to have a monopoly on this argument, but I think if we could get them to see this and even admit it, then we might be able to open some people’s eyes as to what their real agenda is.  After all, even some handgun owners, like rapper Vic Mensa, seem all too willing to see a ban on semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15.  What if we began to push these gun grabbers to admit that semi-automatic handguns were, in their estimation, “assault weapons”?  Do you think those that have been supporting their assault weapons ban would continue along down that road if they knew they were also targeting their handguns?  It makes me wonder if they wouldn’t join our side on the issue.
