John Walker Lindh, The CIA, & A Clueless Booboisie

John Walker Lindh. Most Americans probably don’t recognize the name.

He was the “American Taliban” captured during the invasion of Afghanistan. John served as an effective propaganda device for a while, then he was convicted as a terrorist, and sentenced to twenty years in prison.

Now he is about to be released early from prison. The family of a dead CIA agent is not happy about this, and either are a lot of clueless Americans who are only cognizant of a “war on terror” alternate reality put out by the state’s propaganda media. The Boobus Americanus are well trained and like a Pavlovian dog, respond with anger, hatred, and a taste for revenge.

CNN has its preassigned agenda—support for endless war, support for economic sanctions leading to humanitarian crises, and above all support for the neoliberal racket.

Here we have the main advocate for keeping Lindh in prison forever, Sen. Richard Shelby.

Selby can’t help but tell lies. Or maybe he’s simply an idiot like so many other self-seeking opportunists in Congress. He wrote to Hugh Hurwitz, the acting director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, demanding answers on Lindh’s early release.

Naturally, because he is a Democrat—and for Democrats the real enemy is over on the “far right”—Selby can’t help himself. He conflates Islamic terror organizations with “far-right” groups and individuals in America.

What is the breakdown between those individuals inspired by Foreign Terrorist Organizations and non-Foreign Terrorist Organizations such as violent sovereign citizens, violent white supremacists, and violent militia extremists?

Meanwhile, in the open sewer known as social media, the booboisie rant and rave about Lindh’s release. Here is an admitted or more likely a wanna-be Zionist in Michigan.

Throwing detainees from an “air-plain” (sic) was a favorite tactic of sadistic Operation Condor dictators in South America, a sprawling operation orchestrated by the CIA and Henry Kissinger to abduct, torture, and kill those who had a problem with life under the iron-fisted rule a brutal military dictatorship.

The CIA’s fingerprints are all over al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and the Northern Alliance. Lindh was fighting with the Taliban against the Northern Alliance, a group led by Ahmed Shah Massoud and heavily courted by the CIA. Lindh would later say he was outraged by Massoud’s human rights abuses, including child rape and castration.

If Lindh is indeed a threat to society, we can blame the CIA in large part (along with Pakistani intelligence) for his radicalization.

The CIA flooded Afghanistan with violent textbooks pushing the Wahhabi version of jihad. Mujahedeen leader Jalaluddin Haqqani became a direct asset of the CIA in 1986, according to author Steve Coll. The CIA showered money on Mujahedeen leaders. After the Afghan Mujahedeen and the CIA drove the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan, members of the Mujahedeen split off and organized both al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Here’s something we rarely if ever hear the corporate propaganda media mention (as it runs counter to the fairy tale)—the US supported the Taliban after the Afghan Civil War.

“Between 1994 and 1996, the USA supported the Taliban politically through its allies Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, essentially because Washington viewed the Taliban as anti-Iranian, anti-Shia, and pro-Western. Between 1995 and 1997, US support was even more driven because of its backing for the Unocal [pipeline] project,” writes Ahmed Rashid, a long-time expert on Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Enron bribed Taliban officials as part of a “no-holds-barred bid to strike a deal for an energy pipeline in Afghanistan,” a deal that the Taliban ultimately rejected and this resulted in a promised “carpet of bombs” and the allegation the Taliban were protecting Osama bin Laden (in fact, the US and its CIA rejected a Taliban offer to turn bin Laden over to the US).

It was reported prior to 9/11 that the US had a plan to invade Afghanistan and violently remove the Taliban from power. The presence of Osama bin Laden in the country was used as cover for the invasion.

“The wider objective, according to Mr Naik [the Pakistani Foreign Secretary], would be to topple the Taleban regime and install a transitional government of moderate Afghans in its place—possibly under the leadership of the former Afghan King Zahir Shah. Mr Naik was told that Washington would launch its operation from bases in Tajikistan, where American advisers were already in place,” the BBC reported in July, 2001.

He said that he was in no doubt that after the World Trade Center bombings this pre-existing US plan had been built upon and would be implemented within two or three weeks. And he said it was doubtful that Washington would drop its plan even if Bin Laden were to be surrendered immediately by the Taleban.

In short, John Walker Lindh was an Islamic mercenary fighting with the Taliban against the CIA’s mercenaries, the Northern Alliance. Although he was effectively brainwashed by Wahhabi hatred for and violence against so-called apostates (Shia, Christian, anybody who is not a Wahhabi nutcase), this does not mean he will begin killing people the moment he is released.

Simply put, the reaction to Lindh’s prison release is being used to once again promote the war on terror and the two-minute hate sessions broadcast over the war propaganda networks against a broad array of enemies, many of them created from scratch.
