Is Obama Going to Try Ratifying the Paris Climate Accord Without Senate Approval?
There have been many times that we have heard rumors about Obama preparing to abuse his Constitutional power. Each time, we are skeptical. No one really wants to believe that he is going to act illegally. But, then he does.
The last several instances have involved speaking law fiat out of thin air. Most recently, he gave an executive order on Immigrant amnesty. Many tried to claim that this overstep was into a gray area. But now, we are faced with something that is not even close to being a gray area.

President Obama is prepared to enter into the Paris climate accord as early as this week even though Republicans have insisted that the pact must be ratified by the Senate, according to a report out of China. The South China Morning Post reported that Mr. Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping are “set to jointly announce their ratification” of the ambitious international climate-change pact on Friday, two days before the start of the 11th G-20 Summit in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
“There are still some uncertainties from the U.S. side due to the complicated U.S. system in ratifying such a treaty, but the announcement is still quite likely to be ready by Sept. 2,” an unnamed source told the English-language newspaper.
This would mean that the Obama would openly defy the legal system. He would once again seek to make the American Constitution a relic. He wants our system of government to become a piece of history and dead system. This would make him a lawbreaker. He would be knowingly breaking the law.
The question is, what, if anything, will our weak Congress do about this?
