Shark Attack: The Warning Signs Were Ignored (Video)

“Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” -Psalm 19:11

Most recently in Australia, an experienced diving instructor was swimming off the coast where he was tragically taken down and killed by a great white shark.

The first thing that went through my head was how many signs were posted in warning this man to beware of the impending dangers, and for some reason or another, he simply ignored them, and that to his own demise.

It is like so many in the world today. They sin, which is transgression of God’s moral law (1 John 3:4), willfully and with a high hand acting as if to ignore the warning signs is a wise prudent place to put themselves.

They jump into the shark infested waters of sin by having other gods, by creating gods that serve their sin and then play the hypocrites in identifying themselves as God’s children when they are, in truth, acting out like the devil. They break the Sabbath, they dishonor their parents, they kill (Angry without a cause), they commit adultery (They look to lust), they steal (Regardless of value), they lie (No such thing as a white lie) and they covet (Desiring that which belongs unto another), not coming to the realization that the end of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and they must stand before God on Judgment Day (Hebrews 9:27).

Now, if they understood why those warning signs were put in place, they would never have jumped into the shark infested waters in the first place, in not only the saving their lives, but also in the saving of their souls (Isaiah 45:22).

You see, the wisest directions for spiritual health and avoidance of evil are those warning signs that are found in God’s Word and His moral law. When obeyed (Ephesians 2:8-10), you offend not God and pass from death unto life upon repentance (Matthew 3:2), which drives you to put faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21) and the blood that He shed for the forgiveness of sins on the cross (Revelation 1:5).

If people are truly saved by grace, spiritually speaking (1 Corinthians 2:14), they would take heed to the warning signs and wouldn’t even think of jumping into the shark infested waters (Romans 5:20).
