Thousands Sign Petition to Remove Statue of Virtuous Robert E. Lee & Replace with Foul-Mouthed Rapper Missy Elliott Statue

A new petition that has garnered tens of thousands of signatures wants to remove a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee and erect a new one in its place, a statue of foul-mouthed rapper Missy Elliot.

The Confederate monument in Olde Towne Portsmouth, Virginia has been the home of the Robert E. Lee statue for years.

However, one Missy Elliot fan wants to see it removed and replaced with a statue of her.

Nathan Coflin of Virginia’s petition is asking seven representatives of Portsmouth to remove the monument and erect the Missy Elliot statue.  Those being petitioned are:

  • Mayor John L. Rowe
  • Vice Mayor Paige Cherry
  • Councilman Bill Moody, Jr.
  • Councilwoman Elizabeth Psimas
  • Councilman Mark Whitaker
  • Councilman Nathan Clark
  • Councilwoman Lisa Lucas-Burke

“We believe it is time to finally replace the Confederate Monument in Olde Towne Portsmouth Virginia near the intersection of Court and High streets with a new statue of a true Portsmouth native hero,” Coflin wrote.  “Who better to encapsulate the culture and spirit of the city enshrined in a new monument than Grammy Award winning rapper, dancer, and record producer Missy ‘Misdemeanor’ Elliott?”

Wait, what?  A true hero who was known as “misdemeanor”?  A woman who raps about as pornographic as you can get is a “true Portsmouth native hero”?

Coflin’s standards are not very high when it comes to hero status.

“Before she was ‘Missy Misdemeanor’ she was Melissa Arnette Elliott, born on July 1, 1971 in Portsmouth, Virginia,” Coflin continued.  “Hailing from humble beginnings as the only child of a power company dispatcher and a welder at Portsmouth’s lauded naval shipyard, she rose to become a platinum recording artist with over 30-million albums sold. All this without even once owning a slave.”

Yeah, doesn’t take much to write down perversion and feed it to the youth of America and still be hailed as a hero, does it Nathan?

Did she once put her life on the line for those of her state in the fashion that Lee did?  Did she once hold to the virtues and morality that Lee did?  Was she ever the upstanding true hero that Lee was?

Not that I’m aware.

“Getting this statue put up will be a lot of work and you may ask yourself is it worth it?” Coflin asked.  “I say yes and ask you to join me in letting us work it. Together we can put white supremacy down, flip it and reverse it. Let us come together in getting City Council to erect this statue in honor of Missy Elliott and all those in the great City of Portsmouth who work it each and every day. Ycamerpus Etihw!

White supremacy?  Seriously?  The statue is about remembering a great man who risked his life in the service of his nation, Virginia.

He turned down a place at the table with the Marxist tyrant Lincoln and instead chose to side with his people and the Constitution against the hypocrisy of the Lincoln presidency and the North.

Coflin then concluded, “Missy is all of us.  Missy is everything the Confederacy was not.”

Well, I’ll give Coflin that.  The Confederacy didn’t exploit and add to the delinquency of minors like Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot does.  The Confederacy didn’t make money by perverting sex for exploitation.  The Confederacy sided with the Constitution.  There’s a whole list of things that Missy is that that Confederacy was not, but that would not make me want to erect a statue in her honor as opposed to the statue of Robert E. Lee.

Reports out of Virginia show that Confederate monuments are under attack.  People want to erase American history from the public square. Next, it will be to remove the founding fathers.

“This week it’s Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson is coming down,” the president said at his Tuesday press conference. “I wonder is it George Washington next week, and is it Thomas Jefferson the week after?”

It just might happen, President Trump, if people don’t start pushing back against these little Communists.
