YouTube Hires 10,000 Brownshirts To Rid You Of “Extremist” Content

Understand that when I reference YouTube in this article, that YouTube is owned by Google.  Thus, when these brownshirts start their censorship, their efforts will undoubtedly be applied to Google as well.

While I’m sure they will censor other content, it has become painfully obvious that YouTube is targeting conservative voices because it believes you are just children in need of a nanny to discern the truth for you… or the propaganda.

The Hill reports:

Google plans to increase to 10,000 the number of its staffers tasked with tracking down extremist content on YouTube.

“We will continue the growth of our teams, with the goal of bringing the total number of people across Google working to address content that might violate our policies to over 10,000 in 2018,” YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki told Britain’s Daily Telegraph in an interview.

Wojcicki said that “bad actors” had used the video-sharing site to “mislead, manipulate, harass or even harm” others.

The announcement comes after British Prime Minister Theresa May put heavy pressure on social media companies to remove radical content after a series of deadly terror-related attacks this year in the United Kingdom.

“The tech companies have made significant progress on this issue, but we need to go further and faster to reduce the time it takes to reduce terrorist content online,” May said in a speech to the United Nations in October, according to reports.

Theresa May should mind her own business and deal with Islamic jihadis in her own country rather than worry about what YouTube houses on its platform and covering for them.  Trump did here a favor in pointing out the problem in Britain and she lathered into a frenzy over it.

While Wojcicki claims to have some sort of artificial intelligence that will deal with “radical” content, the question is who is determining what is radical?  A computer with inputs from a liberal, Marxist mindset?

Zero Hedge adds:

Back in August, YouTube announced it would be taking steps to censor content they found to be “controversial” even if it didn’t break any laws or violate the site’s user agreement. And while the message vowed to be part of an effort to “fight terror content online,” the move was met wth widespread skepticism among YouTuber’s as nothing more than a thinly-veiled attempt to censor conservative speech.

YouTube’s “punishment” for users who express purportedly controversial conservative views is to economically punish the content creator by “demonetizing” their content by labeling it “not suitable for all advertisers.” The site even censored former Congressman Ron Paul when he spoke out about the Trump administration’s plans to increase the troop levels in Afghanistan, a decision that had been celebrated as “presidential” by both the left and the right.

We all know that there will be keywords tied to the transcripts that YouTube provides.  We know that Muslims, Marxists and the other criminally minded will report videos they don’t like and those videos will be removed or demonetized without inspection by YouTube, disenfranchising many of those who use the platform.

Here’s the sobering thought America, while we are fighting the tyrannical beast in DC, at the state and local levels, there’s an even greater threat to free speech and other liberties coming from the private sector in the form of Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

Yep, I’m all for a free market.  I am, but this is not that.  This is an oppressive market.  It’s time there was real competition on these platforms.
