James Clapper: “Good Thing” FBI Was Spying On Trump Campaign

Only a man who has been in the power structure that James Clapper has been in would say such a thing.  Yet, following President Donald Trump’s comments via Twitter on Thursday, Clapper said just that on the Fake News Network, CNN.

First, on Thursday morning, Trump tweeted, “Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI “SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT.” Andrew McCarthy says, “There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.” If so, this is bigger than Watergate!”

However, within hours, later that evening, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper took to the failing platform of CNN to declare it was “a good thing” there was an FBI informant spying on the Trump campaign.

Take a listen.

Julia Nista reported on Clapper’s comments:

Clapper admitted the FBI “may have had someone who was talking to them in the campaign,” referring to President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He explained away the possibility of an FBI informant spying on the campaign as the bureau was trying to find out “what the Russians were doing to try to substantiate themselves in the campaign or influence or leverage it.”

Obama’s Director of National Intelligence then went on to say, “So, if there was someone that was observing that sort of thing, that’s a good thing.”

He also stated he believes “it’s hugely dangerous if someone like that is exposed because the danger to that person” and the potential “reluctance of others to be informants for the FBI” could possibly devastate the FBI.

Nista then followed up with a tweet in which she asked, “How can you be a former member of the intel community and claim spying on a presidential campaign is a ‘good thing’?”

One does wonder that, but in the age where the federal government has all but abandoned the Fourth Amendment’s restraints, it’s not surprising.

Fortunately, investigative reporter Sara Carter was there to clear up Clapper’s hypocrisy in the matter.

“Wait… Clapper the leaker who denied the IC was being used to spy on the Trump campaign, now says it was a good thing they did.. unfettered power,” Carter tweeted.

Well, considering that the FBI was using a dossier that was funded by a political opponent and pretty much only that, never seeking to verify it in order to obtain a FISA warrant, I’d say this is par for the course when we are talking about a corrupt administration under the usurper-in-chief, Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah.

It looks to me like it was a really bad thing for the FBI to be spying on the Trump campaign with bogus information from a political opponent.
