I seriously wonder if there should not be a basic civics course that those wishing to serve the people must pass, including a basic understanding of the Constitution and the three branches of government. Why would I demand such a thing? Exhibit A: incoming congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who somehow thinks the three branches of government are “the presidency, the Senate, and the House.”
No, seriously, this is a woman that is about to take an oath to uphold the Constitution and sounds about as ignorant of it as does Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah or any other president of the past two decades.
Take a listen.

“If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress — Uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate, and the House,” she said.

Apparently, she is obsessed with her backside though.
When the press commented that her clothing and shoes don’t make her look like a girl who “struggles,” which we all know now was a lie in the first place, she shot back on Twitter, “If I walked into Congress wearing a sack, they would laugh & take a picture of my backside. If I walk in with my best sale-rack clothes, they laugh & take a picture of my backside. Dark hates light – that’s why you tune it out. Shine bright & keep it pushing.”

How about working your butt off reading and understanding the Constitution you’re supposed to uphold, Ms. Cortez? Oh, right, that isn’t your job, is it? Your job is organizing in Congress, right?
While a positive attitude is commendable, Ocasio-Cortez sounds utterly stupid when she is ignorant of that which she will be taking an oath to uphold.
She is one of those people who don’t realize that we are a republic and not a democracy and that the Constitution that she will swear to uphold guarantees such a government. Ms. Cortez needs to learn that basic civics lesson.
However, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the people who elected her are getting an exact representation of who they are as a people, an entire community that is completely ignorant of their history, their foundations and their Constitution.
By the way, those three branches are: Executive, Legislative and Judicial.
