Imran Awan, the Muslim IT guy behind many congressional Democrats who became a security breach and was arrested trying to leave the country for Pakistan, may have gotten paid by former DNC chair and congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz while he was in Pakistan.

The fact that Awan was able to read all the incoming and outgoing emails from Wasserman Schultz and other House representatives and their staff, including files, is enough to see that he and those in his company and arrested and charged with espionage.

Well, at least for Awan, the arrest has finally come.

This is why there is a need to investigate this serious security breach.

Luke Rosiak, at the Daily Caller points out that Wasserman Schultz also planned to pay Awan while he was living in Pakistan, if he had made it there.

However, it’s worse than simply paying him.

Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz seemingly planned to pay cyber-probe suspect and IT aide Imran Awan even while he was living in Pakistan, if the FBI hadn’t stopped him from leaving the U.S. Monday. Public statements and congressional payroll records suggest she also appears to have known that his wife, a fellow IT staffer, left the country for good months ago — while she was also a criminal suspect.

In all, six months of actions reveal a decision to continue paying a man who seemingly could not have been providing services to her, and who a mountain of evidence suggests was a liability. The man long had access to all of Wasserman Schultz’s computer files, work emails and personal emails, and he was recently accused by a relative in court documents of wiretapping and extortion.

Records also raise questions about whether the Florida Democrat permitted Awan to continue to access computers after House-wide authorities banned him from the network Feb. 2. Not only did she keep him on staff after the ban, but she also did not have any other IT person to perform necessary work that presumably would have arisen during a months-long period, according to payroll records.

Wasserman Schultz employed Pakistani-born Awan and his wife Hina Alvi, and refused to fire either of them even after U.S. Capitol Police said in February 2017 that they were targets of the criminal investigation. She said police wouldn’t show her evidence against the couple and, without it, she assumed they might be victims of anti-Muslim profiling.

Interestingly enough, Awan was terminated after his arrest, the implication being that had he not been arrested, not only would he have made it to his destination in both Qatar and Pakistan, but he would have also remained on the payroll.

“Does that mean if he had boarded the flight as planned the office would have been paying him for six months while he was abroad?” Rosiak asked Wasserman Schultz’s spokesman Thursday.

“Why would it do that?” he continued to ask.

The spokesman did not respond.

Awan isn’t the only one though who was terminated.

According to an FBI affidavit, on March 5, Awan’s wife, Hina, took their three children from school, packed all their possessions and $12,000 in cash and left the country for Pakistan, where hundreds of thousands of dollars were waiting for her.

The FBI claims that money was obtained by Awan through mortgage fraud and then wired overseas.

Hina was then terminated from Wasserman Schultz’s payroll just two days later on March 7.

Like Awan, Hina had a return ticket for six months, but the FBI says they do not expect her to return.

Both Imran and Hina were Wasserman Schultz’s only IT staff at the time the House Sergeant-At-Arms banned them.

In a final note, Rosiak discovered:

In public court documents filed in Fairfax, Va., Awan’s stepmother accused him of wiretapping and extortion. “Imran Awan did admit to me that my phone is tapped and there are devices installed in my house” and “Imran Awan threatened that he is very powerful and if I ever call the police again, [he] will … kidnap my family members back in Pakistan,” his stepmother, Samina Gilani, claimed in the documents (p. 21) filed April 14….

One thing to keep in mind is that Awan and his brothers worked not only for Wasserman Schultz, but for several Democrat congressmen, including Muslim Andre Carson.

Daniel Greenfield reminds us of exactly who Carson is and why this is such a security breach.  The hint is found in the Muslim Brotherhood.

Carson is the second Muslim in Congress and the first Muslim on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and, more critically, is the ranking member on its Emerging Threats Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Department of Defense Intelligence and Overhead Architecture Subcommittee.

The Emerging Threats Subcommittee, of which Carson is a ranking member, is responsible for much of counterterrorism oversight. It is the worst possible place for a man with Carson’s credentials.

Carson had inherited his grandmother’s seat and exploited it to promote a radical Islamist agenda. He has interfaced with a laundry list of Islamist groups from CAIR to ISNA to ICNA to MPAC. Islamists have funded Carson’s career to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. The Center for Security Policy has put together a dossier of Carson’s connections to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood is the parent organization of many key Islamic terror groups posing a threat to our national security including Al Qaeda and Hamas.

Andre Carson shared the stage at a CAIR banquet with Sirraj Wahaj: an unindicted co-conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing who had once declared,” You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” CAIR itself had been named an unindicted co-conspirator in terror finance.

Carson had praised Tariq Ramadan who had been barred from this country for funding Islamic terrorists.  And the Muslim politician was a co-sponsor of the Free Syria Act which attempted to aid Islamist Jihadists in Syria linked to the Muslim Brotherhood such as the Free Syrian Army.

The presence of Andre Carson on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Emerging Threats Subcommittee has always been extremely controversial. But this latest breach involving Democrats on this committee and on other key national security committees raises serious questions about the scale and magnitude of the real problem caused by a compromised congress.

While Carson and other HPSCI Democrats had been demanding security clearance for their staffers, three Pakistani Muslims working for them appear to have compromised security to an unknown degree.

Why were the Awan brothers, one of whom had a criminal record, even allowed to work in such a sensitive position? How did the personnel suspected in this case pass background checks? And was any classified information compromised as a result of these alleged breaches?

What I want to know is when these people who were aiding and abetting Awan and his Muslim brothers and wife are going to also be arrested and have some justice brought to bear on them.
