House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) driveled her way through an announcement on Tuesday afternoon that after having me with her chairmen, leadership and caucus, but not Congress as a whole, that there would be a launch into an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump regarding allegations that Trump shut down the inspector general from providing Congress a whistleblower’s testimony.

“Today, I’m announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry. I’m directing our six committees to proceed with their investigations under that umbrella … The president must be held accountable,” Pelosi said in a press conference.

“The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the Constitution, especially when the president says ‘Article II [of the Constitution] says I can do whatever I want,” she added.

Reading from a teleprompter, Pelosi tried to sound constitutional and historical quoting Benjamin Franklin when he said the founders had given the federation as “a republic, if you can keep it,” adding, “our responsibility is to keep it.”

“Our republic endures because of the wisdom of our constitution enshrined in three coequal branches that act as checks and balances,” Pelosi added. “The president must be held accountable. No one is above the law.”

Including Nancy Pelosi, but I don’t recall her doing any of this when the usurper Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah was violating the Constitution or members of his administration…. or Pelosi herself, for that matter.

At the same time, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff tweeted: “We have been informed by the whistleblower’s counsel that their client would like to speak to our committee and has requested guidance from the Acting DNI as to how to do so. We‘re in touch with counsel and look forward to the whistleblower’s testimony as soon as this week.”

Here’s Pelosi’s statement.  I’m not sure if she spilled a bit of an adult beverage on herself that she probably consumed on the way to make the announcement or not.

However, one Democrat, who recently blasted Trump over the use of the military as “prostitutes” for Saudi Arabia, Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is refusing to join in what Trump himself has referred to another witch hunt.

“I believe that impeachment at this juncture would be terribly divisive for the country at a time when we are already extremely divided. The hyperpartisanship is one of the main things driving our country apart,” she told host Brian Kilmeade of Fox & Friends.

Gabbard added, “I think it’s important to beat Donald Trump, that’s why I’m running for president,” she said. “But I think it’s the American people who need to make their voices heard making that decision.”

Of course, all the usual suspect were on board with Pelosi and more pursuit of Trump.

Elizabeth Warren, a woman who should probably be arrested for fraud considering she isn’t Native American, but used that to get through school tweeted, “The House must impeach. It must start today.”

Fox News adds, “In addition, a slew of key swing-district Democrats threw their support en masse behind opening a formal impeachment inquiry, as The New York TimesThe Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that Trump personally ordered acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to freeze nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine just days before he pressed the new Ukrainian president to investigate the Bidens.

Trump responded by saying it was nothing more than “Witch hunt garbage.”

“Such an important day at the United Nations, so much work and so much success, and the Democrats purposely had to ruin and demean it with more breaking news Witch Hunt garbage. So bad for our Country!” he wrote.

Tyler Durden added:

Ahead of Pelosi’s official announcement, Trump said that an impeachment inquiry would benefit him politically: “If [Pelosi] does that, they all say that’s a positive for me in the election,” he said. “You could also say who needs it. It’s bad for the country.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the president promised to release an unedited and unredacted version of transcript of the phone call with Ukraine’s president, a move that Democrats who want to see the full whistleblower – which is based on the phone call – report say falls short.

Ironically, while a Trump impeachment effort will go nowhere, because even if the House votes it through it will never pass the Senate, we now wait to see what a long overdue probe into Joe Biden will reveal.

And the Biden story is the real story in all of this, just like Obama and Hillary were the real story concerning Russian collusion, but it will take a serious Trump administration to actually bring justice and not just political theater.  Without justice, we can expect more of this WWE circus over the next year.  I, for one, am not looking forward to it.

The Democrats and the Mueller Report have basically tanked due to that fiasco that cost the Ameican taxpayer millions of dollars.  Should this impeachment inquiry fail, it will all but guarantee the re-election of Donald Trump.

Perhaps, that is exactly what it is meant to do.  Think about that.
