On Wednesday, South Carolinians gathered at the capital rotunda in Columbia to hear from those who are on the front lines fighting the battle for the lives of the unborn and the souls of men in the Palmetto State.  As they gathered to hear from supporters in the state legislature and Personhood South Carolina, Governor Henry McMaster also attended and continues to support a personhood bill that is concise that declares life begins at conception, something that government is duty bound to protect, according to both the Scriptures and America’s founding document, The Declaration of Independence.

As states like New York, Virginia and Vermont seek to snuff out the life of the most innocent among us, and rejoice and celebrate in their drunken, bloodthirsty self-indulgence, Personhood South Carolina is advancing the cause of life and seeking to protect the very ones that those states want to “legally,” but unlawfully behead, dismember and murder in cold blood every day.

Dr. Matthew Clark, who heads up Personhood South Carolina, opened the meeting by reiterating the words from President Donald Trump during his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.

“All children, born and unborn, are made in the holy image of God,” Clark declared, quoting Trump’s speech.  “That’s not hard to understand.”

Applause erupted and Clark said there was only one thing that South Carolinians needed to ask themselves, and that is whether they will be consistent with this clear and simple message.

Around the six-minute mark in the video of the entire event, Governor McMaster takes to the podium.  As he does, he introduces South Carolina’s new Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, who also supports Personhood and has three children of her own.

Governor McMaster noted how attendance for the push to protect the unborn had grown how people had begun to understand what was actually going on and how to combat the holocaust that is going on in America, and specifically South Carolina.

McMaster supported the Personhood Act when it was first introduced and said that he affirmed that now as well.

The governor has also signed a pledge to support Personhood and said the bill is a “clear, concise, easy to understand concept.”

“Either life begins at conception or it doesn’t,” he said.  “If it doesn’t begin at conception, then when does it begin?”

That is the issue before the people today.  Not one politician, activist, member of Planned Parenthood or other baby murder mills can answer that question.  Only those whose actually believe the Bible can answer the question and like it or not, even those who may not be Christian and come to the same concept do so based on the influence of our Christian heritage upon their thinking.

Governor McMaster also said that he had taken steps as governor to make it clear what South Carolina stands for, including issuing an executive order that no state agency will provide tax money for abortions, as well as have the Department of Health and Social Services not allow abortion providers to be on our Medicaid rolls.

“But that’s just the beginning,” said McMaster.

The governor wants to lead on this issue in the country, believing it is what is best for the people.  He then repledged to the people of South Carolina his commitment to sign Personhood into law.

“You send me that clear, concise, perfect Personhood bill and I will sign it into law,” he said.

Cheers and applause went up because this is what many of us have longed to see in our state.

Travis Childers, Treasurer for Personhood South Carolina, offered up a moving prayer to God for repentance and to “living our lives before the face of God.”

Childers also expressed that in doing so, that it be manifest in keeping God’s law by loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and with reference to not only our adult neighbors, but even the unborn, loving them as ourselves.

Mr. Childers confessed the sins of our people in failing to love the unborn, unwed mothers, failing to lead our families as men, the failure to declare the Word of the Lord in the pulpits, and the failure to declare to civil magistrates their duty to be blessings to the righteous as ministers of God and asked God to forgive us and to grant us true repentance to do what is right.

I encourage you to watch the entire event and pray that God move the hearts of our representatives to pass this legislation soon, so that by chance, God may turn back his wrath for our sins and heal out land.
