Is Trump Attempting to Force AG Jeff Sessions out?

It seems that President Donald Trump recognizes that his choice for Attorney General was not the correct one.  Almost daily, Trump is ridiculing Sessions and pointing out his failure to perform the job of attorney general.  Wednesday was not exception.

in a series of morning tweets, Trump targeted Sessions for failing to replace the acting head of the FBI and Clinton puppet Andrew McCabe.

“Why didn’t A.G. Sessions replace Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a Comey friend who was in charge of Clinton investigation but got big dollars ($700,000) for his wife’s political run from Hillary Clinton and her representatives,” Trump tweeted.  “Drain the Swamp!”

While I get his frustration, I have an even bigger concern, why did Trump put Sessions in the attorney general seat in the first place that Justice Department?  While I grant that Sessions has done good work in pointing out certain things as a senator in the past, he has failed to bring resolve in very important matters, much like South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy.

One of those instances was in confronting former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta concerning US troops being used in Libya.  There was absolutely nothing done nor was any serious pursuit of law breaking taken by Sessions or his committee when Panetta basically thumbed his nose at them and the Constitution in favor of an “international consensus.”

I’ll give him a bit of the doubt that maybe he thought some of these guys would work with him and now he’s discovering that many of them are simply a part of the problem.  I can imagine that coming into an administration and all the corruption that is in DC is something to sort through, but perhaps, he is ready to burn the bridges with those who have made their living in politics.

One can at least hope, right?

But there is no doubt that Sessions cannot be trusted in light of his recusing himself in the Russian collusion allegations.  We know this by the reaction of the neo-cons in Congress.  Take a look.

I suppose in much of this, Trump has trusted some advisers like Reince Priebus, which he shouldn’t have.  After all, this is all part of the good ole boys’ network that had been part of the spineless problem we face in the US.  Hopefully, AG Sessions will be sent back home to Alabama soon.
