Trump Walks Out Of Schumer & Pelosi’s “Waste Of Time” Meeting Over Failing To Fund Border Wall

Well, President Donald Trump is sticking to his guns here.  On Wednesday, he walked out of what he referred to as a “waste of time” meeting with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) because they are unwilling to budge on providing him the funding to build the border wall he promised the American people.

“Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!” tweeted Trump.

When Pelosi said “No” to funding the wall, Trump told her “goodbye” and left, according to Vice President Mike Pence.

However, neither Pelosi nor Schumer seem to want to relinquish the funding for the wall and are digging in even harder despite the fact that a majority of Americans do want a border wall.

“Federal workers will not be receiving their paychecks,” said Pelosi. “And what that means in their lives is tragic in terms of their credit rating and their mortgage and their rent and their children’s tuition and all the rest. The President seems to be insensitive to that – he thinks maybe they can just ask their father for more money, but they can’t.”

Right, and whose money are you guys spending on all your social and welfare plans that are unconstitutional, Ms. Pelosi?  You’re getting that money from somewhere but it’s not your daddy.  It’s the American taxpayers!

Schumer claims that Trump is “a petulant president of the United States,” and that because he “didn’t get his way and he just walked out of the meeting.”

I don’t think these two have actually dealt with anyone who was unwilling to give up the ground he was standing on is the real issue here.

While they claim the election in 2018 was a response to Trump and other issues, they fail to acknowledge the 2016 election was a blow to them in who they were conducting themselves in government.

Trump has issued a threat to declare a national emergency in order to build the wall.  Democrats question whether that is legal, and frankly, so do I.  Money has to come from somewhere to build it and the president is not authorized to spend money like that.  That is Congress’ job per our Constitution.

It looks like we’ll just continue down this road for a while.

In the meantime, if you are a non-essential government employee on vacation or calling in sick, you should go get a real job as you might not be getting paid for quite a while.  Save the taxpayers some of this money that’s going to be spent on this wall.
