Wikileaks exposed a ton of corruption in 2016. However, the whistleblowing website is promising to outdo itself in 2017.
On Monday, Wikileaks tweeted, “If you thought 2016 was a big WikiLeaks year, 2017 will blow you away.”

In 2016, Wikileaks dumped more than 27,000 emails from the Democratic National Committee and more than 50,000 emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta.
The DNC emails proved without a doubt that the DNS leaned towards Clinton while working against her opponent, Bernie Sanders. They also demonstrated that the DNC was behind provocateurs who incited violence at GOP rallies.
Wikileaks also dumped audio of Democratic Party voicemails.
Among the other leaks that occurred were the release of 500 documents from the US embassy in Sana’a, Yemen, which “contain[ed] correspondence relating to the Office for Military Cooperation (OMC) within the embassy and provide a clear portrait of the US’s role in arming and training Yemeni forces and an enthusiasm for selling ‘shiny new toys’ to the Yemeni government.”
Then there were more than 30,000 Clinton State Department emails that Wikileaks unloaded that showed massive corruption.
Other significant leaks that were released in 2016 were the infamous Panama Papers from an anonymous source who worked with German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and thousands of Open Society Foundation files tied to George Soros.
Wikileaks has also announced the Julian Assange will be answering questions on Reddit on Thursday at 9am EST.
