Two years after DHS whistleblower Philip Haney’s body was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest, a Northern California sheriff-coroner finally ruled it a suicide. Yeah, right!

ABC10 reports:

Haney, 66, was found dead with a single gunshot wound Feb. 21, 2020, in a park-and-ride lot along a busy state highway in a rural area of Amador County, east of Sacramento. He was a former DHS national security official for 15 years and self-described whistleblower critical of President Barack Obama’s administration.

Haney’s death was controversial enough for the Amador County Sheriff’s Office to bring in FBI crime scene investigators and other analysts to assist.

Investigators found that Haney left a suicide note with a signature that a forensic analysis determined was in his handwriting. The gun used was traced to him.

He also left behind neatly arranged financial documents with instructions on how he wanted his assets distributed, according to investigators. And Haney gave away his potted plants the day before he was found dead.

“After a thorough review of the evidence collected and processed by the Sheriff’s Office and FBI, the Sheriff’s Office has determined the manner of Mr. Haney’s death to be suicide,” the statement from Sheriff Gary Redman’s office said. “This case has been classified as closed.”

Nice and neat, right?

As the Daily Mail reports, it gets even neater.

Haney Investigators found that Haney left a suicide note with a signature that a forensic analysis determined was in his handwriting. The gun used, a Sig Sauer, was traced to him.

He also left behind neatly arranged financial documents with instructions on how he wanted his assets distributed, according to investigators. And a day before he was found dead, Haney gave away his potted plants to a neighbor, who said that the former DHS official ‘appeared depressed lately.’

Haney did not appear suicidal at all. In fact, a close friend, Jan Markell, tweeted about her last conversation with Haney.

Jan Markell: My friend Phil Haney was found shot yesterday in CA. I had lunch with him a month ago. He warned something could happen to him. He was to get married in a month. It will be falsely called a suicide.

His body was found in February 2020 by his car on the side on a highway in Plymouth, California after he went missing for two days.

Haney had disclosed in 2016 that he was to scrub the record of Muslims in the US with ties to terrorism due to an order from the Obama administration.

I don’t by the suicide story and neither should you. Why? Take a listen to this recent commentary from Brannon Howse and friends of Haney.

Philip Haney was the co-author with Art Moore of the book, See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad.
