Chuck Schumer’s Communications Director Forced Out Over “Inappropriate Encounters” With Staffers

While Democrats constantly berate their political opposition over sexual misconduct allegations, often without any evidence, they seem to quite often either engage in or hire those who engage in the very things they claim that they are outraged by.  On the heels of Senator Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) aide accused of sexual harassment, the communications director for Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has now been forced out of his role over “inappropriate encounters” with staffers.

That’s right, you read that correctly.  Communications Director Matt House was “forced” out, not fired.

Huffington Post first reported on the story, and it seems clear that House was guilty of the allegations, as he issued a statement indicating just that.

In a text-message statement late Friday, a spokesman for Schumer confirmed that House was forced out after the encounters were alleged:

Upon learning that he had inappropriate encounters within the office and that it was making some staff uncomfortable, he was asked to leave.

House said late Friday via text-message:

I absolutely loved my time working in the Senate and it was the honor of my life. I deeply regret the mistakes I made on the number of occasions when I had too much to drink, and I apologize to anyone who was affected by my behavior. I have always respected all of my colleagues and I was horrified to learn that I made anyone feel uncomfortable. In the past three months, I’ve stopped drinking and I’ve committed to making myself a better colleague and person.

Fox News reports:

No specific allegations of improper behavior involving House were disclosed.

According to his LinkedIn page, House previously served from 2011 to 2012 as Schumer’s press secretary. Prior to joining Schumer’s office, House worked for then-Sen. Joe Biden’s 2008 presidential campaign.

The Schumer aide’s departure was another sign of turmoil among the staffs of top Democrats.

Interestingly enough, no criminal complaints have been filed against House, and more than likely, he will go on to work another job for another Democrat in the future.

This seems to be commonplace among Democrats for some reason, though there have been Republicans who have also been accused in sexual misconduct with lots of circumstantial evidence.

In December, Senator Kamala Harris’ senior adviser resigned over a $400,000 harassment lawsuit against him while working at the California Justice Department, which Harris headed up before becoming a US senator.

Some have suggested that President Donald Trump invite the victim to attend the State of the Union address.

However, sexual allegations are not all that Democrats have had in during 2018 and the first part of 2019.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) had a driver and office director for two decades who was discovered to have a been a spy for the Chinese.  He was let go, but nothing ever came of it because the FBI claimed he had passed no information to the Chinese.  Yeah, right.
