That’s because they’re a bunch of leftist liars trying to get Trump. This is what they do. They’re so mad to destroy Trump, they don’t care how many lies they tell. And no matter how many times they’re exposed, and how low their ratings fall, they keep it up and never, ever get the idea that maybe it would be wiser to be more fair and accurate in their coverage.

Late last week, Buzzfeed broke a story claiming Robert Mueller had proof that President Trump ordered his attorney, Michael Cohen, to lie to Congress about an aborted Russian real estate deal. The left, and its media allies, was gleeful in the extreme. “Finally,” they thought. “The smoking gun had presented itself.  Trump’s presidency is over!’

Then, the whole thing collapsed. The normally silent Mueller crawled out of the swamp, refuted the piece, and the media was crestfallen. Suddenly, they were reminded that Buzzfeed is really a site that exists to answer burning questions like “which Breakfast Club Character am I?” or “Do you remember these 25 obscure 80’s villains?”

The story crumbled, and CNN – where ‘gotcha fever’ burned the hottest – was forced to do a little self-examination.

Legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin summed it up best, when he said that reporters’ desperate desire to buy into the Buzzfeed fiasco would ‘reinforce every bad stereotype about the news media.”

As he put it: “The larger message that a lot of people are going to take from this story is that the news media are a bunch of leftist liars who are dying to get the president, and they’re willing to lie to do it.”

The problem for Toobin, and the rest of CNN, is that the “bunch of leftist liars” stereotype had nothing to do with the Mueller report, or the Buzzfeed story. In fact, that perception predates Donald Trump’s presidency and candidacy altogether. It’s nothing new.

There’s a reason CNN has been referred to as “the Clinton News Network” for decades. The network was founded by Ted Turner, launched in June of 1980, and skewed left since day one. Its coverage of Reagan and Bush was merciless, then it was uniformly glowing during the Clinton years, before going completely brutal during the Bush decade. We won’t even get into the sycophantic portrayal of Obama, Obamacare, and CNN’s willingness to push the lie of the 44th President’s “scandal free” administration….
