Integrity is EVERYTHING!
“Actions speak louder than words.”
Is there anything worse than a person that claims to be upright that just cannot keep their word, or do what they said that they were going to do?
In all sincerity, what good are they? They are clouds without rain (Proverbs 25:14).
We have all heard that we are only as good as our word. In stark contrast, we have to come to terms with the fact that if one cannot keep their word, they are good for nothing, vain and empty.
Just this last week, when looking to connect someone as a guest on our show, the first thing this person talked of was their love for Jesus. However, as she started to name drop, I found that she delivered exactly what I expected that she would, nothing; and I mean nothing when it came to her keeping her word. She was all talk and no action (James 2:14-26). Today, this is very prevalent especially, in the church of America.
On the other hand, there are a few, and when I say a few, it means just that, that keep their word. As a matter of fact, I have had a friend in ministry that I have known for over 23 years now that when called upon and without fail has within 5 to 10 minutes responded. I love it.
The person that I am now highlighting has a national ministry.
Going back to those who have no integrity, how many times over the last 23 years of ministry have we reached out to those who have 25 to 50 to 100 people in their congregations and you can’t get a call back for 3 days to a week, and that is if you’re fortunate. Their excuses, of course, are that they were too busy to keep their word. Shameful.
I could literally write a book on the lack of integrity that I have witnessed.
Now, we know why the guy with the international ministry has an international ministry. It’s because he is faithful in doing what he said that he would do (1 Timothy 1:12).
In Numbers 30:2, Scripture tells us:
“If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.”
In Deuteronomy 23:23, Scripture tells us:
“That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.”
Back up and hold to what you say so that you do not find yourselves in the lot of the unfaithful (Luke 16:10)! After all, action does speak louder than words (1 John 3:18).
