State-controlled media outlet CNN, the first name in fake news, has provided decades of utterly fabricated stories.  We’re not talking a story that merely had an error or a wrong opinion in it or missed a fact.  No, they have fabricated news stories for public consumption.  Yet, recently, CNN’s Jim Acosta was confronted by a reporter from Alex Jones’ Infowars and asked whether he supports Jones being banned from social media platforms.  Acosta wouldn’t answer that despite his own network calling for such a ban of Infowars but made the brazen statement that CNN deals “with the facts” and “the truth.”

Infowars reported:

Journalists and political commentators from both sides of the aisle criticized CNN for doubling down on its debunked Trump Tower story.

Lanny Davis, attorney for former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, admitted he was a source for a CNN story claiming President Trump had advance knowledge of the Trump Tower meeting between Don Jr. and a Russian lawyer.

Davis later backtracked in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, where he admitted his client didn’t know if Trump in fact had prior knowledge of the meeting.

But CNN is standing behind its report despite using Davis as a source.

“We stand by our story and are confident in our reporting of it,” CNN PR said in a statement Sunday.

Journalists from the left and right called out CNN for not just failing to correct its fake news, but also continuing to actively push it.

Several tweets were then provided to show how people pointed out the utter hypocrisy of CNN to defend their fake news.  Here’s a sampling.

Lanny Davis said he was a source who lied to CNN. That’s on him.

But CNN in the story in question wrote “one of Cohen's attorneys, Lanny Davis, declined to comment.”

Then, there was Infowars’ own Paul Joseph Watson, who chimed in.

The Lanny Davis farce is yet more proof that CNN, while relentlessly pointing the finger at others in a bid to shut down its competition, continues to publish the most high profile, erroneous and damaging fake news on a regular basis.

Now, keep in mind this is also coming at a time when self-professed news transparency checkers Newsguard is giving thumbs up to CNN as a website that “generally maintains basic standard of accuracy and accountability.”  At the same time, it warns readers of Infowars to “proceed with caution” because the “website generally fails to maintain basic standards of accuracy and accountability.”

By the way, if you are not familiar with Newsguard, you soon will be if you use Google and social media outlets like Facebook as they are rolling out like red and green markers to try and sanitize the internet for you and poison the well regarding any outlet that seeks to provide you with opinion, news, facts, evidence or documentation that goes against the corporate-owned media, media like CNN.

I say that all to prime for the Acosta video.  The following video, which appeared on Infowars in an article in which CNN seems to stand behind what appears to be an utterly fake news story, shows Acosta taking the time to answer some questions from Millie Weaver and claim that he supports both freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

Take a look.

When asked what he thought about Alex Jones being banned, Acosta said he didn’t have a comment.  Now, how can you not have a comment on it, and yet, go on to say you support free speech and freedom of the press?

Acosta said he didn’t like President Trump calling out the press for their lies because that was a reason for having a free press, but claims that people have to be “responsible.”  In doing so, he thought that Jones crossed the line in his reporting on Sandy Hook, but the question is if there are still unanswered questions regarding that incident, is it not responsible to ask serious questions about the official narrative?  One would think so.

When Weaver pointed out that both sides point their finger at news outlets and claim they are fake news, Acosta said he didn’t think you could put CNN in the same category as Infowars because of the Sandy Hook issue.  Really?  Of course, CNN has never tried to blame mass shootings on the “extreme right,” right?  However, when the facts came out, they were actually drugged up Democrats.

Still, Acosta claimed, “We deal with the facts.  We deal with the truth.”

Interesting, let me just ask, if Mr. Acosta happens to be shown this piece if these instances over the years are CNN’s way of dealing with the truth?

Media outlet Newsbusters put together a great piece that exposes CNN’s decades of “fake news” propaganda. This is nothing new for those of us who have exposed their lies before, but it might be to these Johnny come lately websites pretending to be some sort of authority figure on “fake news” when all they actually report on is those sites listed in the looney professor’s lists that’s passing through Harvard.

Arnett’s Air War

In the early days of the first Gulf War, CNN’s Peter Arnett, in his reports from Baghdad, went beyond what was required of a reporter under censorship, from merely transmitting enemy propaganda to commenting on how reasonable it seemed. When he reported that Iraq claimed Allied pilots had bombed a baby-milk factory, he added that the site “looked innocent enough, from what I could see.” Arnett told Newsweek: “I think the U.S. just miscalled it…there was no doubt in my mind that it was unlikely to be a supersecret facility” producing poisonous agents.

A January 24, 1991 Los Angeles Times article, that appeared a day after Arnett’s first report on the baby milk factory, relayed criticism of the Iraqi-approved story: “‘Apparently this facility, by what we’ve just learned, has military guards around it, a barbed-wire fence,’ Lt. Col. Mike Gallagher said. ‘It has a military garrison outside, and numerous sources have indicated that the facility is associated with biological warfare production.’ By afternoon White House Press Secretary Marlin Fitzwater was telling reporters that the factory ‘is, in fact, a production facility for biological weapons.’ ‘The Iraqis have hidden this facility behind a facade of baby milk production as a form of disinformation,’ Fitzwater said.”

Later on, in a January 31, 1991 live report, Arnett described damaged civilian areas he saw in a government tour. Although he admitted to anchor Reid Collins that he had not seen the missiles land, he stated: “There was no doubt in my mind that the cruise missiles that came in, the two had obviously landed in these residential areas.”

Tailwind: CNN Falsely Reports War Crimes by U.S. Forces

In a story so rife with false reporting CNN was forced to retract it, Arnett claimed U.S. forces had committed war crimes and used nerve gas in Laos during the Vietnam War in Operation Tailwind. The “Valley of Death” segment aired on the June 7, 1998 premiere of Newstand: CNN & Time was so atrocious, CNN’s own military affairs consultant Perry Smith resigned in protest.

At the time, Howard Kurtz reported in the June 17, 1998 Washington Post story that “Smith quit after failing to convince Tom Johnson, Chairman of the CNN News Group, that the network needed to retract the story” which was also published in Time magazine. “‘I can’t work for an organization that would do something like this and not fess up to it,’ Smith said yesterday.”

CNN’s Jim Sciutto Claims Trump Never Honored CIA Wall of Heroes

On January 23, 2017 CNN correspondent Jim Sciutto insisted Donald Trump didn’t “say anything” about the wall of sacrifice behind him during his speech to employees at the Central Intelligence Agency. That turned out to be false. Sciutto reported: “There was an opportunity here, which the president missed in front of that Memorial Wall at the CIA, was to say anything about the sacrifice of the 117 stars representing the people who died in the field for the Central Intelligence Agency.”

In fact, Trump strongly expressed his gratitude to the CIA: “I want to say there is nobody that feels stronger about the intelligence community and the CIA than Donald Trump, There’s nobody, nobody. The wall behind me is very, very special.”
