Mad Max & The Slander Dome: Maxine Waters to Deliver SOTU Response on BET
When news media programs want individuals to speak to politics, particularly in response to a president’s State of the Union address, one would think producers, news media personalities, and media moguls would choose someone fairly knowledgeable, rational, and able to speak to the issues. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Black Entertainment Television (BET) network. In a program to air after President Trump’s first State of the Union address, BET has chosen Maxine “Mad Max” Waters to fill the airways in the “Slanderdome.”
BuzzFeed News reports:
One of President Donald Trump’s fiercest critics on Capitol Hill will address the country just after next Tuesday’s State of the Union.
Rep. Maxine Waters, a California Democrat, will speak at the top of a BET News special after Trump delivers the State of the Union, a BET spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. The program, “Angela Rye’s State of the Union,” is part of a broader partnership announced just days ago between the network and the Democratic strategist and political commentator. Rye will executive produce news programs with a sharp focus on issues facing black Americans. The programs will run quarterly, BET said in a release.
The spokesperson said activists and some elected officials will analyze Trump’s first year in office on the program, and will talk about “building black politics and the value of engagement across today’s socio-political landscape.” A Democratic source familiar with the production on Friday night told BuzzFeed News that it wasn’t immediately clear if the program would air on Tuesday or Wednesday night.
Activists evaluating and analyzing Trump’s first year in office, with elected officials like “Mad Max-ine,” will be filled with negativity and near slander. Trump could turn this republic around 180 degrees and these “Nancy Naysayers” would find fault. Of course, that is to be expected with someone like “Mad Max.”

And, there will be talk about “building black politics and the value of engagement across today’s socio-political landscape.” Did not eight years of the illegitimate Kenyan dictator/king wanna-be not build enough black politics for them? Oh, that’s right, the illegitimate Kenyan did nothing for black Americans except foment victimhood through the lie of “white privilege” and portray black Americans as needy because of fake oppression. Remember the wealthy got rich by taking money from poor blacks and whites. [commence eye rolling]
Trump has recently taken to highlighting how well he believes black Americans are doing under his presidency, tweeting earlier this month that he was “so happy” that black joblessness was plummeting. Earlier this month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the rate had fallen below 7%, but analysts disagree over how much credit, if any, Trump deserves for that drop. Black lawmakers certainly don’t think he deserves that credit, and some plan to let him know that Tuesday by boycotting his speech.
Who does far left-leaning Democrats and BuzzFeed think is responsible for the drop in black joblessness? Blacks were increasingly losing jobs under the illegitimate Kenyan wanna-be dictator/king policies. President number 44 has been gone for a year now. Could it be the policies of President Trump, instilling hope in the market, caused a drop in joblessness among blacks? To the “Debbie Downer” Democrats, it had to be the “job fairies” or some belated inaction from number 44, anything and everything but Trump.
Black Democrats are ramping up organizing efforts outside of the party’s Washington apparatus in hopes of greater impact in this year’s midterm elections and heading into 2020. Groups like The Collective PAC are recruiting and training candidates; BlackPAC played an integral role in turning out black voters in Virginia’s elections last year; and a national group, Power Rising, is creating a black women’s agenda at a conference next month in Atlanta. A black woman in that state, Stacey Abrams, is vying to become the first black woman ever elected governor in the US.
Divisiveness in this republic has come down to separation in everything. No longer is it “Democrats,” it’s now “Black Democrats,” as though race is indicative of a particular political platform. Is there going to be further division, such as “Poor Black Democrats,” “Wealthy Black Democrats,” “Christian Black Democrats,” “Muslim Black Democrats,” “Middle Class Black Democrats,” “Disabled Black Democrats,” and so on and so forth until there is no common ground upon which to build anything cohesive with non-Black Democrats.
In some corners of Democratic politics, Waters was considered a potential dark horse to deliver the official Democratic rebuttal to the State of the Union. (The Boston Globe first reported Thursday that Massachusetts Rep. Joe Kennedy will deliver that address.) Waters, who is the ranking member of the Financial Services Committee, has reinvented her national profile and emerged as one of the leading faces of the anti-Trump movement — especially on the internet — and has called for Trump’s impeachment, stating repeatedly that she believes special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation will find that Trump colluded with Russia in its meddling of the 2016 election.
Rye’s on-air focus on Trump is something of a coup for national Democrats, whether they know it or not. BET caters to a black audience that skews younger, a segment of the electorate national Democrats cannot afford to lose in 2018 and 2020. Rye in particular is enormously popular with this group. And in Trump, Rye will have the chance to tap into one of the more effective motivating factors for young black voters, according to focus groups conducted last year by Priorities USA: getting Trump out of office.
“Mad Max” has reinvented nothing. She was always hateful, vile, and anti-American, following closely behind the illegitimate Kenyan dictator wanna-be, holding his coat tails like a child. The election of Trump over Hillary Clinton stuck in her craw allowing her to unleash the full brunt of her hateful, vile, anti-American rhetoric turned against President Trump. While she championed the lawlessness of number 44, backing up every crime committed, she is ready to call for Trump’s impeachment because she doesn’t like the direction of his administration, actually has tremendous hate for Trump, and is terribly angry Hillary Clinton didn’t win to continue the lawlessness of the previous administration. “Mad Max” believes in fantasy, living as a legend in her own mind, clinging to hope Mueller will find Russian collusion with Trump in the 2016 election. So far, Mueller has found zip on Trump, but plenty of information is coming out to show collusion on the side of Democrats and the Clinton campaign.
Whoever ends up buying the “snake oil” BET and “Mad Max” peddle, be mindful there is no “money back guarantee” when the policies of Democrats or Black Democrats blow up the farm. When Democratic rhetoric and policies are built upon lies (the sand), it is a foolish man who chooses to build his house upon it. It doesn’t matter their race.
