More From Broward’s Cowards: Deputy Found Sleeping In Car Outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
How stupid does one have to be to get a job with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office? Pretty stupid, at least that’s what the latest report indicates as one deputy who was part of “upping the security” at the school where last month’s mass shooting took place in Parkland, Florida.
Broward County Deputy Moises Carotti was part of the new security reinforcements that were assigned to the school following the February 14 shooting.
However, on Tuesday, Carotti was found sleeping in his vehicle outside the very building where the shooting allegedly took place.

The Miami Herald reports:
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said Moises Carotti has been suspended with pay at least until an internal affairs investigation was completed. BSO said at just after 5 p.m. Monday a student notified another officer on campus that Carotti was sleeping in his car.
“The sergeant responded to the marked patrol vehicle, which was parked on the Northwest corner of the 1200 building,” BSO wrote in a press release Tuesday. “He knocked on the window to get Carotti’s attention, who appeared to be sleeping.”
BSO said after the commander in charge of the Parkland unit was notified, another officer was sent to replace Carotti. He had been patrolling the north perimeter of the 1200 building — the same building where 32 people were shot during a rampage last month.
Carotti was ordered to turn in his badge, turn over his vehicle and inform internal affairs of his whereabouts twice a day.
Apparently, this is what such “amazing leadership” from Sheriff Scott Israel produces. Deputies will rise no higher than the sheriff that leads them, and this is just another indication that Scott Israel is not fit for duty any more than the cowardly deputy outside the school on the day of the alleged shooting and this deputy found sleeping on the job.
Additionally, Israel’s own indifference during a time when he should have been up to speed on what was going on during the Valentine’s Day shooting indicates that what I’m writing about his leadership is absolutely true.
“Of all the schools in America, you would think this would be the safest one right now,” said Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL). “This is so outrageous it’s almost impossible to believe.”
Not really, Senator Rubio. Consider who is in charge down there.
Following the suspension of Carotti, Governor Rick Scott offered state troopers to the school because he was facing pressure from parents.
However, as I’ve pointed out, all this does is bring about a demand for bigger government by increasing a police force, and ultimately a police state. If you don’t believe me, understand that Scott’s office has been investigating Israel’s office and yet, Chris Eger reports, “While the county bills that it has the largest fully accredited sheriff’s office in the country, with 5,800 employees and an annual operating budget of $730 million, Sheriff Scott Israel welcomed the additional assets offered by Scott, saying ‘This will ensure that all entrances & exits at MSD High School are secure.’”
Right, throwing money at the problem will obviously fixe cowardly deputies, stand down orders by incompetent people and deputies sleeping on the job.
While I can applaud the actions of someone like school resource officer Blaine Gaskill in Maryland on Tuesday, I can never condone policemen being set up in schools in which the state and federal governments unlawfully indoctrinate our children as opposed to repealing the schools as gun free zones and reinstating the rights of teachers and staff to keep and bear their arms as protected under the Second Amendment.
It seems clear that Sheriff Scott Israel does not have the ability to lead his men to engage in the conduct worthy of the public trust in Broward County.
