Pro-Crime Congresswoman Assaulted in D.C. Building

Crime is out of control in Rep. Angie Craig’s Minnesota and in Washington D.C. where local officials pushed through further pro-crime measures that have been condemned by even the mayor and the attorney general, and have led to more home rule restrictions. Now, just as in the wake of the Memphis incident, Democrats (and some Republicans) have pivoted back to their war on police, Rep. Craig was attacked in D.C.

Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.) was assaulted Thursday morning in her Washington, D.C., apartment building, her office said.

The attack does not appear politically motivated, her chief of staff Nick Coe added.

The assault, which occurred in the building’s elevator around 7:15 a.m., left her bruised, according to a statement from Coe. The lawmaker called 911 and the assailant fled.

“Rep. Craig defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay,” Coe said in a release, noting that “there is no evidence that the incident was politically motivated.”

Rep. Craig faced repeated criticism over her ties to pro-crime activists, including those working in her office.

A swing-district Minnesota Democrat is scrambling to distance herself from a top state staffer who called to defund police and promoted a radical group that pays to bail out violent criminals.

And those funding her.

According to an invitation obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, Rep. Angie Craig (D., Minn.) appeared in the Golden State on Thursday for a big-ticket fundraiser with Heart of LA Democratic Club. The liberal group, which is “dedicated to actively promoting the full and equal representation of women and people who identify as women,” has repeatedly endorsed the movement to defund police.

In June 2020, the group praised Los Angeles’s Black Lives Matter chapter for its “compelling presentation to LA City Council on defunding the police,” a move it said would mark “a big step towards progress.” Months later, Heart of LA Democratic Club endorsed socialist Nithya Raman to serve on that council—Raman has openly called to defund police. The group also backed a police reform bill that, according to fellow liberal organization Indivisible, would “defund the police.” Heart of LA Democratic Club vice president Sarah Kate Levy, meanwhile, echoed calls to defund police last year, writing that while she “was a reformist” she now “see[s] clearly the need to defund.”

Rep. Craig, running in a more competitive district, tried to disavow calls for police defunding, but she supported other pro-crime measures, including joining Rep. Ilhan Omar’s drug decriminalization proposal, and has expressed support for the racist pro-crime hate group, Black Lives Matter. She has falsely slurred our country by alleging that it suffers from “systemic racism”. This sort of rhetoric only leads to enabling crime. And now she’s another crime victim due to the pro-crime policies of her radical movement.

In 2020, Rep. Craig had tweeted, “Black Lives Matter. Today we showed up as a community in Hastings and Eagan. The fight for racial justice is everyone’s fight everywhere.”

How did that work out for her?
