My, how far we have come!  America’s founding fathers promoted the growth of hemp for wealth and protection, for industry and for advancement of the States.  Today, hemp has been made illegal in many areas and is only allowed with government “permission.”  However, even when one acquires permission from the beast system’s state, he can’t be sure that same beast won’t flash its teeth, move in and devour his livelihood, which is what happened to Trent Pendarvis of Pendarvis Farms in Harleyville, South Carolina.

Keep in mind that the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution was meant to protect Pendarvis from his property being seized and destroyed in the fashion it was destroyed by South Carolina Law Enforcement (SLED).

According to Queen City News:

COLUMBIA, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — When Trent Pendarvis hopped out of bed on Sept. 19, 2019, he had no idea he was a wanted man, and just hours later, the State Law Enforcement Division would raid his family’s 130-year-old farm and haul him off to jail.

Pendarvis Farms is headquartered just off Main Street in Harleyville, a town of 677 people. Mostly families with multi-generational roots dating back to the early 1900s.

Pendarvis was standing in an aisle inside the ACE Hardware store that morning when his cell phone rang. An S.C. Department of Agriculture inspector was on the other end.

“SLED said they needed to meet me down at the field; they wanted to talk to me,” Pendarvis recalled the SCDA inspector telling him in the call. He assumed the state wanted another sample of his hemp crop to test for THC levels, which he said is standard practice.

“When I got there, I pulled up, got out the truck, looked around, and here come people from everywhere. They were coming from every direction,” Pendarvis told Queen City News Chief Investigator Jody Barr during an interview in September as he stood in his field recalling the raid on his family’s farm.

“It looked like they were coming to take down an army of criminals or something. I didn’t know that it took that many people or that much equipment and much manpower to come to one farmer, and I’m standing in a hemp field,” Pendarvis said.

The men depicted on a State Law Enforcement Division body camera recording weren’t rank-and-file SLED agents with a warrant to serve. The agent wearing the body camera is identified in court filings as Captain Glenn Wood, a high-ranking SLED agent who heads the SLED Pee Dee Region Office in Florence. Wood was also the agent-in-charge overseeing the investigators conducting the criminal investigation in our ‘Final Disrespects’ investigation out of Marlboro County.

Court records identify the other agent in the body camera videos as Major Frank O’Neal, who heads SLED’s drug unit.

Pendarvis is now suing over the violation of his rights and property loss.

Consider with me this:  What business does the State of South Carolina have in telling you what you can and cannot plant on your own property?  None!  As far as I can see, land is to be owned by individuals, and since time and memorial, individuals have used the land either t build houses, businesses or produce crops as they pursued “happiness” as the Declaration of Independence stated, or a more proper understanding was given prior to the word happiness being used, and that was the pursuit of land.

Many of our founders promoted the growth of hemp.

Hemp had been declared illegal in the 1930s along with its sister plants in the cannabis strain.  According to Botanicam.com, “…in the 1930s, hemp was embroiled in a political war due to very influential men who were deeply invested in nylon and new forms of paper, materials that were in direct competition with hemp fibers and hemp paper. Before long, hemp would become the perfect tool for politicians to garner votes during the Great Depression, capitalizing on American fear. Politicians could be heard preaching from the pulpit about the evils of now re-branded “Marijuana” plant. This new name was chosen to exploit the fears of the American public of Mexican immigrants. Politicians craftily repeated the narrative that immigrants had brought in the psychotic “marijuana” from their native Mexico. To this day, the US criminal justice system leverages the war on drugs to incarcerate minorities at a much higher rate than American Caucasians, despite its use being equal across racial demographics.”

The fact that we have allowed any government to tell us what to do with our land is a testimony to how little we valued liberty.

The fact that we have allowed any government to ban those things that God put on the earth and declared good, thus putting themselves as holier than the Creator Himself, is a testimony to how little we value the Creation and the natural laws of God.

This is why the “war on drugs” is so dangerous and should be abolished.  Instead, turn these agents of the state loose on Big Pharma, which is largely responsible for massive amount of deaths and injuries in the united States of America.

We have reached out to Mr. Pendarvis and his attorney at Williams and Williams to see if he might be willing to be interviewed on The Sons of Liberty.  As of the writing of this article, we’ve received no word back.
