Trump Cans Iran Deal

On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump announced that he was scrapping his predecessor’s nuclear deal with terror-tied Iran.

“It is clear to me that we cannot prevent an Iranian nuclear bomb under the decaying and rotten structure of the current agreement,” Trump said in a nationally televised statement from the White House. “The United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.”

“The Iran deal is defective at its core,” Trump added.  “If we do nothing, we know exactly what will happen.”

“In just a short period of time, the world’s leading state sponsor of terror will be on the cusp of acquiring the world’s most dangerous weapon,” he continued.  “Therefore I am announcing today that the United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.”

“The so-called Iran deal was supposed to protect the United States and our allies from the lunacy of an Iranian nuclear bomb, a weapon that will only endanger the survival of the Iranian regime,” Trump said. “In fact, the deal allowed Iran to continue enriching uranium, and over time, reach the brink of a nuclear breakout. The deal lifted crippling economic sanctions on Iran in exchange for very weak limits on the regime’s nuclear activity, and no limits at all on its other malign behavior, including its sinister activities in Syria, Yemen, and other places all around the world.”

“We have also consulted with our friends from across the Middle East,” Trump added. “We are unified in our understanding of the threat and in our conviction that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. After these consultations, it is clear to me that we cannot prevent an Iranian nuclear bomb under the decaying and rotten structure of the current agreement.”

Trump also declared that there would be the “highest level” of sanctions against Iran, something that is not actually helpful as it hurts the people rather than the government and gives the government a tool of propaganda to use on their own people.  Sanctions are acts of war in themselves.

“Any nation that helps Iran in its quest for nuclear weapons could also be strongly sanctioned by the United States,” Trump added.

However, while the sanctions are a bad thing, dropping the nuclear deal is a good thing.

Trump has stated that the agreement between the Obama administration and Iran was the “worst deal ever.”

Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah was obviously upset by the move to scrap the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Obama, having absolutely no courtesy to just stay out of the people’s business after driving our nation into the ground for eight years, posted to Facebook his statement on Trump’s actions.

There are few issues more important to the security of the United States than the potential spread of nuclear weapons,…

“The reality is clear,” Obama said. “The JCPOA is working – that is a view shared by our European allies, independent experts, and the current U.S. Secretary of Defense.”

“Debates in our country should be informed by facts, especially debates that have proven to be divisive,” Obama said.

Except when he chooses to ignore clear facts about the Islamic-terror tied country.

Obama did say the agreement included European allies such as United Kingdom, France, Germany, the European Union, as well as Russia, and China.

He then admitted,

“Finally, the JCPOA was never intended to solve all our problems with Iran,” he said.  “Because of these facts, I believe that the decision to put the JCPOA at risk without any Iranian violation of the deal is a serious mistake.”

Obama is correct in that the Europeans are fully supportive of the agreement, but no one is surprised by countries that are bringing in and harboring Islamic migrants into their countries.

CNBC reports:

France, Germany and the United Kingdom expressed “regret and concern” over Trump’s decision and said they intend to preserve the 2015 agreement. In a joint statement on Tuesday, the leaders of the three nations called on Iran to continue implementing the deal, and said Trump should avoid taking any action that would prevent them from implementing the agreement.

“After engaging with the US Administration in a thorough manner over the past months, we call on the US to do everything possible to preserve the gains for nuclear non-proliferation brought about by the JCPoA, by allowing for a continued enforcement of its main elements,” the leaders said, referring to the deal by its official name, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Trump’s plan to restore sanctions and Europe’s resolve to maintain the nuclear deal are directly at odds. The success of the sanctions depend on exerting pressure on Iran’s economy, while the fate of the deal relies on open access to the Iranian market.

Donald Tusk, president of the European Council, on Tuesday said Trump’s polices will be met with a “European approach” that will be discussed at a summit next week.

“France, Germany, and the UK regret the U.S. decision to leave the JCPOA. The nuclear non-proliferation regime is at stake,” French President Emmanuel Macron said in a tweet.

He added, “We will work collectively on a broader framework, covering nuclear activity, the post-2025 period, ballistic activity, and stability in the Middle-East, notably Syria, Yemen, and Iraq.”

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tuesday that his country would remain engaged with the other signatories to the original deal.

“We’ve known for months that President Trump wouldn’t be committed to this deal,” he said. “The Iranian foreign ministry will continue talks with remaining countries in the deal.”

While I think pulling out of this “deal” is a good move, we’ll see about that in the upcoming days.
