Will You Take $100 Bucks A Day To House An Illegal Migrant? What Happens When He Refuses To Leave?
New York City has tried busing the illegal alien migrants flooding the city to Canada and to suburban communities. It’s turned over hotels to them and now Mayor Eric Adams is proposing to shove them into churches and any spare room you might have in your house.
With thousands of asylum seekers coming to New York City, Mayor Eric Adams is floating an interesting idea to help accommodate them.
Hizzoner says homeowners with a spare room could be paid to provide shelter.
“It is my vision to take the next step to this, go to the faith-based locales and then move to private residence,” Adams said.
Is there room in your home for an asylum seeker? The mayor is working on a plan to pay city homeowners to house them, perhaps $100 per night or more.
“There are residents who are suffering right now because of economic challenges. They have spare rooms. It’s cheaper and it’s a good investment for us to go to a family and assist them instead of placing people in large congregate settings or in these emergency hotels,” Adams said.
In the Woodlawn section of the Bronx, resident Allan Reese said he doesn’t think the idea will fly.
“Uh huh, ha, good luck with that,” Reese said.
I’m sure some will do it. There are people living in rundown buildings in the Bronx that would welcome a few thousand a month. Those are places you might not want to send a dog, but then again you’re talking about housing potential cartel members anyway.
One twist is that New York City’s eviction protections are so extreme that anyone doing this had better count the days and then kick the migrant out, or the migrant becomes effectively un-evictable by legal means.

That $100 a day could easily cost someone their home.
And even in under the time limit, who is to say that the migrant will leave when told to? Since there’s no housing available, homeowners taking this deal are also going to have to shortly force the migrant out even with no alternative housing, or treat him like a tenant while hoping that the city will go on paying rent for him. If the city stops, evicting him will be nearly impossible. And migrants in the past have refused to leave hotels.
Go figure that people who invade a country might also invade someone’s home.
