3 Students Violated At Binghamton University By 200 Others Because Of Political Views – University Won’t Take Action

What happens to a society or nation when lawlessness is left unpunished and lawfulness is viewed as punishable by the lawless?  Society and the nation devolve into utter chaos, inviting a tyrannical despotism to arise.  The First Amendment of the Constitution for the united States of America states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;  or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”  In conjunction with the recognition, protection and guarantee of these God-given individual unalienable rights by the federal government, States incorporated the same into their individual constitutions.  Why is this important?  College students at Binghamton University in the State of New York are now maneuvering on the college campus in groups for safety after being harassed by a group of 200 students opposing their political views turned into violence.

The Daily Caller reported:

Following harassment by a leftist mob, and fearing for their safety, Binghamton University Republicans travel through campus accompanied by their peers, which they refer to as “packs.”

The students took these new measures after they were surrounded by an angry mob of 200 people on Thursday and had to be escorted to safety by campus police. What started as chants, name-calling, and demands to “pack up” and leave from the mob, escalated to destroying merchandise, overturning the display table, and yelling in the students’ faces.

At the time this incident occurred, Turning Point USA and College Republicans were tabling on campus to promote an upcoming event scheduled for the following week. The marketing strategy included handing out hot chocolate and adorning a table they had set up with conservative-themed posters and merchandise.

The video of students harassing the three students who were promoting an upcoming event has since gone viral.

According to the Constitution of the State of New York, “No person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws of this state or any subdivision thereof. No person shall, because of race, color, creed or religion, be subjected to any discrimination in his or her civil rights by any other person or by any firm, corporation, or institution, or by the state or any agency or subdivision of the state.”

Binghamton University officials stated that no disciplinary action will be brought against the violent perpetrators, nor will an investigation be conducted into the matter, despite a New York State assemblyman sending a letter to the university demanding answers about the university’s position.  Clearly, Binghamton University is an “institution” that has allowed 200 students to commit a crime with impunity, thereby discriminating against the three Republican supporting students through denying these students justice in the college disciplinary system.

Be sure and read the Binghamton Review’s article by Tammy Gagliano critiquing the university’s official bull manure response.

According to all accounts, the two tabling groups did not get “permission” to engage in freedom of speech on public property.  As it stands, the 200 individuals who showed up in opposition didn’t get “permission” to engage in their activities, which some of those activities were criminal in nature.

To understand the gravity of the incident, students, 200 of them, disagreeing with the three college Republicans, were triggered by displays and merchandise with a conservative theme.   Another point of offense for the easily offended 200 snowflakes was a poster supporting gun rights that just happened to be displayed on the same day as a mass shooting in a California school that killed three individuals.  However, what triggered the violence most were displays indicating support for President Trump, according to text messages obtained by The Daily Caller.

“I heard there are only like 3 supporters there,” one student said in “The Culture,” a progressive group chat at Binghamton. Another responded, “yeah there’s not that many but f*** em up anyways.” [edited for vulgar language; profanity]

Those three “Trump supporters” were Lacey Kestecher, John Restuccia and another student Republican.

The text messages were first reported by the Binghamton Review, a student-run, campus news organization.

According to the Binghamton Review, “Messages were sent to at least two massive group chats, encouraging students to go to the Spine and harass the conservative students.”  The images contained in the article show “messages that were sent to a Hinman community group chat that consists of over 400 Hinman residents, and group chat for students of color called ‘The Culture’ that has over 1500 members”.

University police arrived to ensure extreme violence did not occur, but the activist protestors began chanting, “no justice, no peace, no racist police.”  UPD advised the College Republicans and Turning Point representatives to leave before the situation “got out of hand” and escorted the three individuals to safety.

Afterward, the narrative being spread is that it was not the 200 student protestors who were to blame for the verbal harassment and destruction of someone else’s property, but it was the College Republicans and Turning Point representatives.

The Binghamton Review reported:

Pipe Dream, BU’s mainstream newspaper, released an article the following day, titled “Student activists protest tabling event promoting gun rights, criticize UPD for response.” They claim that College Republicans and Turning Point USA “tabled in support of gun rights,” listing this as the sole purpose of the tabling. Although the Turning Point table did contain two posters about guns, these were just a few of the items they used to advertise their organization. “The purpose of the TPUSA table was to promote Turning Point as an organization; it was NOT a ‘pro-gun rally,’” Jon Lizak explained. College Republicans did not have any gun-related imagery at their table at all. The Pipe Dream article fails to mention the purpose of tabling for either club. Instead they focus on two specific posters (out of many more) that was on one of the two tables, and uses them to claim that the purpose of the tabling event was to “support gun rights.”

Pipe Dream also claims that tabling took place hours after a school shooting in Santa Clarita, California. The tabling actually began at 11 AM eastern time, approximately a half hour after the shooting in California, which occurred at around 7:30 AM pacific time (10:30 eastern). The club presidents, John Restuccia and Lacey Kestecher, both said they were unaware of the shooting that had taken place while they were getting ready to start tabling.

Not only were these students harassed, they have suffered further injury at the hands of “yellow” journalism, which would not have been tolerated in days gone by even on a college campus.

In response, Binghamton University College Democrats released a statement based on the “yellow” journalism article printed by the Pipe Dream.  In it, the false narrative of the Pipe Dream article was repeated – claiming TPUSA and College Republicans were advocating for gun rights only hours after the school shooting in California.  The College Democrats called for the suspension of the College Republicans for “putting the lives of students in danger” and “enforce a ban on Turning Point USA from tabling in the future”.

So, 200 against three, and the three are blamed wrongly.  Let’s put this into perspective.  There were 200 individuals engaging in terrorism against three individuals who were peaceably advertising an event and promoting their organizations.  The University officials sided with the terrorists since no one participating in the violence will be disciplined despite video showing the faces of some of the violators.  And, the victims of this violence are now avoiding the main campus and traversing the outskirts of the campus to get to class.

Terrorism is against the law and anyone engaging in terrorism is a felon.  The freedom of speech does not apply to the 200 terrorists since one text message encouraged the 200 to engage in bodily harm – there is no other way to interpret “there’s not that many but f*** em up anyways” – and the protestors engaged in destruction of property – vandalism, which is against the law.  Moreover, the three students promoting conservative principles were the victims of libel by student journalism staff and their staff sponsor.

TPUSA chapter president at Binghamton, Lacey Kestecher, stated she now felt unsafe on campus.

“I do not feel safe on this campus at all. I do not. My parents are concerned my parents want my location at all times right now, my brothers are beyond worried.  They don’t know what’s going to happen I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Kestecher said.

John Restuccia, president of the Republican club, called the protestors “bullies” using terror and fear to try and kick them off campus because of the dislike of the ideas represented.  He claims it has just made him more determined.

College campuses should not be dangerous environments for students because college should be a place for an exchange of ideas and open discussion.  Unfortunately, colleges and universities have ceased to be institutes of higher learning.  Instead, they are institutes of hivemind thinking, becoming indoctrination camps for the easily brainwashed while charging parents for the privilege to indoctrinate their children in socialist/communist doctrine.
