Can America learn to unite again?
Looking back at Pearl Harbor is a view of a time when an attack on our country unified us, rather than further divided us.
If a major Islamic terrorist attack or an attack by China were to happen today, after the initial shock wore off, we would not pull together, we would not fight together, we would fight each other.
I wish it weren’t so, but if 9/11 and COVID showed us anything, it’s that very thing.

We’re certainly not alone in that regard. Europe has gotten to the point where the only response to terrorist attacks is either cringing political correctness or a circular firing squad. For all the EU Ukraine cheerleading, if Russia invaded France or the UK tomorrow, it would just trigger more infighting. And the Israeli media has once again spent the past few weeks trying to get Israelis interested in the latest ‘hearings’ about whatever fake Netanyahu scandal they’re pushing now as if Oct 7 had never happened.
Countries can survive attacks if they have unity and fortitude. At the moment we have neither. And without that, we’re not really a nation.
I dream of seeing an America that can unite against foreign enemies. After 9/11, I briefly saw that America emerge before it was squashed by cultural warfare and political exploitation. And decades later, I’m not sure how much of it still exists. But I remain hopeful that we can become a nation ready to face our enemies once again.
