Hutcherson has been arrested twice in the last six months

The pro-crime policies known as “criminal justice reform” took our society into a hellhole by eliminating what they called “carceral” solutions. That meant arrested criminals got out of jail with no bail, instead of being sent to jail when convicted they went to diversion therapy and any kind of mandatory minimums were eliminated. But there’s a reason we had all of those things.

And one of the big reasons is that it’s a small percentage of the population that causes most of the trouble.

While the media loves to talk about mass shooters and serial killers, it’s an 0.1 percent of repeat offenders who are the problem. Lock them up and crime drops the way that it did in the nineties. Let them loose and we go right back to the seventies.

Take this psycho who racked up 17 arrests, threatened someone with a gun last month and repeatedly threatened people with violence.

The horror that happened could have been averted if we had a functioning prison system and mandatory minimums.

Instead, this happened.

The man who stabbed two teenage girls on vacation from South America at Grand Central Terminal’s has 17 prior arrests and was just let out of jail two weeks before he said ‘I want all the white people dead’ during his attack.

Steven Hutcherson, 36, is said to have gotten into an argument with staff at Tartinery who told him he could not sit in the restaurant’s seating area.

That argument led to the attack on the innocent girls, aged 16 and 14, who were visiting from Paraguay.

One of the girls was stabbed in the thigh while the other was stabbed in the back, nicking her lung.

Hutcherson has been charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

So does this mean he’ll finally be locked up? Don’t bet too hard on it.

Counting his November 7 charge, Hutcherson has been arrested twice in the last six months for intimidating people while brandishing a gun in the Bronx.

He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced Dec. 12 to conditional discharge, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office said.

Hutcherson’s arrest last month followed his Oct. 27 sentencing to 15 days in jail in an earlier case from this summer, also in the Bronx, the DA’s Office said.

It’s not clear how much of the 15 days Hutcherson actually served.

Hutcherson was also arrested on Oct. 2 and charged with smashing a display case at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in Manhattan, causing $81,000 in damage, according to a criminal complaint.

Manhattan prosecutors said he was initially ordered held on $3,000 bail in that case and pleaded guilty to second-degree menacing on Oct. 12 for which he was also sentenced to 15 days in jail.

With no functioning prison system, this is what we get. Criminal justice reform urgently needs to be dismantled. And its proponents should never hold any kind of public office again.
