Media mogul and liberal enabler, Oprah Winfrey, had a real opportunity to use her network to do good and teach the ignorant about the dangers of Islam and jihad. However, Winfrey instead used her position to allow the propagation of Islamic propaganda that could be incredibly dangerous for all Americans.
An Islamic scholar, Varun Soni, the dean of Religious Life at the University of Southern California, recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s Belief series, and explained that all the head choppers and rapists and suicide bombers who do their deeds while screaming “Allahu akbar” are all misunderstanding jihad.
“One of the most misunderstood concepts of Islam is ‘jihad’, which many people interpret as ‘a holy war,'” said Soni. “But there is nothing holy about war. What ‘jihad’ actually represents is an internal struggle, the battle that is raging in our own heart. And all of our religious traditions talk about that internal struggle. In that respect, jihad is not just a Muslim idea but it’s a reality of the human condition.”

Soni claimed that “Muslims see themselves as coming to god with great humility. For Muslims, submitting to God creates a radical sense of equality.”
Equality? Equality between the beheader and his victim?
Oprah doing a show on jihad could have done enormous good. Instead, she did a show with an Islamic scholar who laughably claimed that jihad is merely a spiritual struggle.
We’ve all heard, many times, this idea that jihad simply means “spiritual warfare.” Sadly, while some Muslims may believe this, the vast preponderance of the Islamic people do not live as though this is what they believe. If they believed that jihad was simply spiritual warfare, they would all quickly and roundly condemn the physical violence committed by Muslim terrorists around the world. (As Ben Shapiro proves, the majority of Muslims are obviously okay with jihad as a physical and not solely spiritual idea.)
Don’t let the media (and the Muslim apologists) fool you, the reality is that the majority of Muslims view jihad as a very real, physical war against the “enemies” of Islam. Who is the “enemy” of Islam, you ask? All non-Muslims. That means you and me.
