Setting The Record Straight: No, President Trump Has Not Been Impeached

An amazing number of Americans believe President Trump has been impeached because Congress has approved two articles of impeachment against him. Nothing could be further from the truth.

However, since it is up to the Senate to actually vote for or against whether the articles of impeachment are valid and vote to remove a president, by law, President Trump has yet to be impeached.

The fact that so many people are unaware of the mechanics of their own government isn’t surprising since most public schools and universities have become Socialist indoctrination centers, instead of educational institutions like they were decades ago.

The average US citizen has very little knowledge even of the basic geography of their own country, much less know how their government works.

Apparently, this same so-called education system has also failed many in our government, as well.

When elected representatives in all branches of government, from the local level to the president and all in between, believe the US is a democracy not the republic it really is, you know they have not been properly educated.

One important aspect of a republic that separates it from a democracy is the voting process.

In a democracy, the majority rules where the candidate who wins the popular vote is declared the winner.

The trouble with this system is it leaves out large areas of a country who may not have the population to ever have a candidate that represents their political views.

In a republic, like the US, all people in the country are better served by a mechanism such as the Electoral College that protects vast areas of the country from always having a president for which the west coast and east coast votes. With the Electoral College, the rest of the country has as much say as to who gets elected president as does the two coasts. This is primarily the reason many politicians want us to believe we are a democracy because they want the Electoral College eliminated, assuring them a win for the White House in virtually every election via the votes from those two liberal coasts.

The House has drafted two articles of impeachment against President Trump, which are nothing more than charges levied against him, not a judgment of impeachment.

The mechanics of the law regarding impeachment are rather like those involved with someone getting a traffic ticket. With one getting a ticket, the officer gives the ticket to the driver which states the laws broken and a date to appear in traffic court to either admit the guilt or dispute it. If it is disputed, the judge has to make a ruling based on the testimony of the police officer and the defendant, as well as any evidence at hand.

The same goes for impeachment, the House can draft up a thousand articles of impeachment against a president, but he or she remains unimpeached until the impeachment articles are presented to the Senate for a vote. Only when the Senate adjudicates a decision via a vote of either guilty, or not guilty, is it made official.

So, the bottom line is, no, President Trump has not been impeached and to the dismay of many Socialists in Congress, he is not likely to be, if and when the articles of impeachment ever reach the Senate for a ruling.
