Those In Hell Wished That They Could Hear It One More Time
“And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.” – Luke 16:24-25
The biblical message is a call for repentance to sinners (both within and without the Church), and “Repent and believe” (Mark 1:15) is that message! Yet, instead of preaching the biblical message of repentance, because they have failed to do so, the apostates are doubling down in their rebellion and saying to sinners, “Come along to Bethel and sin” (Amos 4:4).
More than not, to arrogant, prideful, shameless, wicked, revolting, and stiff-necked people, there is just no nice way to say to them what needs to be said. Regardless of man’s prejudices and his indifferences, we hold to the Scripture, as John Knox so boldly put it, “The Scripture of God is our only foundation in all matters of weight and importance.”
Therefore, in obedience to the Word of God, we find that it to be Law to the proud and grace to the humble (James 4:6).

Man is to fear the Lord in acknowledging and departing from his transgressions towards God… not Hell. Hell is the consequence of unrepented sin. Read Luke 12:4-5. For those who refuse to repent before God, in refusing His mercy, will receive their just recompense, Hell (John 8:24).
It is true that people who love their sins hate to hear the word repent. Yet, those people who are now in Hell wish they could hear it just one more time so that they might repent. Though now, that they are there, it is too late for them.
What happened to the preaching of the whole counsel of God from the pulpits across the country today? Where is the biblical message of repentance being preached? This is what the Bible clearly teaches (Matthew 3:2).
When Christians hold to the Word, they will defend the faith and will be indignant with the impostors who are withholding the whole counsel of the Lord from the lost (Acts 20:27).
Look to Christ and His example, look at the time that He spent reproving the self-righteous, religious hypocrites (pretenders). Are today’s Christians above and beyond their exemplar? Absolutely not. Read Matthew 23:3.
One can only guess why most pulpits in America would not preach the whole counsel of the Lord. Maybe they are not offended by the sins of men who put Jesus on the cross? And if this is the case, maybe this is because they have not repented?
Thomas Aquinas correctly perceived this truth when he said, “He who is not angry when there is just cause for anger is immoral. Why? Because anger looks to the good of justice. And if you can live amid injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust!”
Are these not offended at what offends God? If not, then one has to ask of what spirit they are born (John 8:23).
We are not called to be Judases to our King as traitorous ambassadors (Luke 22:48). Instead, we are called, entrusted, and commanded by the Lord to be faithful witnesses that delivereth men’s souls (Proverbs 14:25), and only the love towards God and man, and the practice of His Word will do that.
