Imagine that you are in a public bathroom, and once in the stall, you notice that the person in the stall next to you is not acting right.  They are making obscene sounds.  It seems that you are being watched.

As a woman, this is an ever-present fear; that you will be violated in public.  You fear that you will be seen as a mere object, and not as a person.  This was what happened to a woman in Charlotte.

WCCB reports:

A Charlotte woman says she was worried for her safety after she went to the bathroom at 7th Street Public Market Sunday and looked down at the stall next to her.

“It was size, you know 11 to 13 shoe, I knew for sure it was a man,” she says.

She took cell phone video to prove what she saw. She says he was making noises.. and it made her very uncomfortable.

“He was.. playing with himself,” she says.

She says her husband confronted the man after he came out and chased him down the street.

“I said, ‘Sir, what were you doing in the stall next to my wife, in the women’s bathroom?’ And he said that he was looking for his daughter and he didn’t know what I was talking about,” her husband says.

This is one of the reasons that laws such as HB2 are important.  It sets out a line of protection against such offenders.

WCCB continued:

The couple say it makes them worry more about privacy, especially with the recent controversy over North Carolina House Bill 2.

“As a mother of a 10 month old daughter, it makes me nervous, for myself, for her, for anyone,” she says.

“I feel like there should definitely be stricter rules or stricter laws that protect women and children who want to just go to the bathroom in peace,” her husband says.

If the country does not wake up to such dangers, the real victims will be disregarded.  People such as this woman and her daughter will be the ones who will bear the burden of our “Social Justice.”
